Good percentage to have after the first game. With a bit of luck we will be on top of the ladder at the end of round one.

If the situation gets worse in the next week and they have to cancel the season, I guess that could make us the premiers. :D

Totally; sometimes it's just cringe worthy and lackluster, like they're going through the motions. Tonight was full of energy and enthusiasm. More please.

Grundy and our centre clearance work was first class.
Tyler had a great debut and geez i love his brother.
Mayne, Adams, Scotty all very good.
Thought Noble was very handy and Mihocek just brilliant.
A bit of Daicos magic.....this game had it all.

I wonder how the people who don't want this season to go ahead feel?
Go Pies!
Really happy for you in particular fuzz. You were prepared to state your opinion that you wanted the season to at least start, against the tide in this forum.
I understand that our society (and the whole globe) is under adversity like we haven't had in many, many years, but the traits I consider to be Australian - pluck, spirit and fortitude - seem to have gone missing. Our Pies just had a great win - first in the opening round for some time - and so very few are rejoicing in that. Well, stuff it, I'm happy - for just a few hours in a horrid few weeks, I'm feeling a little joy.

As you say fuzz, go Pies!!!!

I loved it. Bizarre without the sound of tne crowd and disappointed I couldn't go but how good was that?

So much to like. Wow, what a great percentage. For a first game that was the tonic.

Now to repeat the effort next week. Can't wait.

Thumbs up to this post WPT.

I watched the boring game last night, so guess I had become a little accustomed to the lack of crowd. Actually, I'm enjoying it. I really appreciate being able to hear sounds that we normally couldn't, like the thwack of body against body (how was it when the Bulldogs player went to tackle JDG and just bounced off him!! ), the sweet thud of the ball as it's kicked, the goal posts rattling when a shot at goal hits them, the shouts of the players to one another. Pure footy sounds. :D

I actually felt compelled to comment during the game thread about all the negative comments that were being posted, because we were playing so well against one of last year's finalists.
Sorry for misinterpreting your post, PP.

I understand what you were saying now.

I think it’s a farce that this season in going ahead. But I love Collingwood, so will bask in all their wins. I support Collingwood, not Gil’s ‘make it up as we go’ AFL shitshow. Will watch the replay and enjoy defeating this minnow club, as I always do. But it doesn’t change the fact that this season should have been postponed.

Glad we sorted that Jezza   Thanks for replying. :)

A Collingwood win is always a thing of great joy to me, but I do feel for Doggies' supporters, especially as one of my best mates is one. :(
Everyone needs a lift right now and it's fortunate for us that tonight, it's Collingwood supporters.

The midfield rotation was great, e.g. seeing Elliott line up on bontipelli
Liked Hoskin Elliott playing with more aggression

But the number one improvement winning clearances and getting our forwards 1-1

Defence was superb!

WHE looked like a different player to the pre-season, didn't he. I thought his inclusion was simply because we had no-one better for that position, but he certainly played with serious intent and did well. Phillips on the other hand I thought was a trifle down.

I can't recall when we won the centre clearances so decisively. I'm wondering how much that was due to Brodie hitting it out to the pack instead of knocking it to his feet??
