I heard that players also receive votes for who's followed the coaches orders, not necessarily just the player who gets the most touches and/or plays a blinder.
So I assume that means that a guy like Dimma might not have got many touches of the ball, but if he's been sent out to shut his opponent down and does it, then he could still get votes. Or if Molloy's job was to help clear the forward line and assist the other forwards to kick goals, then he's also done what he has been asked and could then get votes.
