Opening paragraph of an article in the ABC today.
On Friday AEST, US President Donald Trump suggested injecting disinfectant as a way to treat coronavirus at one of his then-daily press briefings.

Headline from an ABC article on Friday
Australia's top doctor advises against injecting disinfectant to treat coronavirus, as suggested by Donald Trump

2 mainstream examples, I could easily find many more.

As I said, it's not a strawman if it's true.

Imagine they tried to do this with Captain Coronavirus' whole cringeworthy presidency. Here's what malignant narcissists say when people are dying due to their mismanagement:
The NYT wrote:260,000 Words, Full of Self-Praise, From Trump on the Virus

By far the most recurring utterances from Mr. Trump in the briefings are self-congratulations, roughly 600 of them, which are often predicated on exaggerations and falsehoods. He does credit others (more than 360 times) for their work, but he also blames others (more than 110 times) for inadequacies in the state and federal response.

Mr. Trump’s attempts to display empathy or appeal to national unity (about 160 instances) amount to only a quarter of the number of times he complimented himself or a top member of his team.
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/202 ... lyzed.html

But! But! Fake media! Daddy, they're picking on me! [Takes bat and ball and storms off with zero respect or consideration for the sick and dead, blaming all and sundry, vowing never to return as a monumental national crisis carries on all around him].

Cowardly Cadet Bone Spurs indeed.

Much like the whole reckless Trump experiment, and the reckless Bush experiment before that, it's hard to watch the oil industry, week after week, month after month, as it crawls to its final miserable end, like a skiddled snake trying to slither off a highway, ever toxic and ready to take down everyone with it.

Think about how pathetic this is: you know oil states cause endless war, terrorism and instability; yet, instead of signalling oil is on its way out and change is inevitable, you decide to grab a last toxic free kick and build up your own industry, sustaining the charade.

Failing to actively plan and hasten the demise of fossil fuels is as criminally negligent as not preparing for pandemics in cities or wildfires in sclerophyll forests. More mismanagement putting the world at risk.

Being a reckless, self-entitled coc&face is a full-time job for everyone in the Captain Coronavirus administration, no matter who, when or where. You just wish some it really was fake news.

Pies4shaw wrote:Seriously, how simple does one have to be to contemplate even the merest hint of a possibility of injecting disinfectant into people for any other reason than that you have had enough of them? Does he have an IQ of 60 or is he losing the plot? For a guy touted by some as "intelligent" it's surprising how many things he says are so laughably stupid (or would be laughable, if they weren't so dangerous). Dettol had to issue a press release stating, in substance, "Please, please, don't - you'll die": https://www.independent.co.uk/news/worl ... 81786.html
He certainly needs to realize that some people take what he says as gospel, orthey at least misinterpreted it.(I’m not arguing about if/what/who/when was said, he obviously said something he should not have in relation to disinfectant).

I can’t believe anyone blindly believes something medical when toldby a non medical profession, like the idiot chef with his $15000 light source, what a scum Bag to cash in on his fame likethat.

But I guess that’s how Jonestown and Waco happen. Scary shit
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

Inside Donald Trump and Jared Kushner’s Two Months of Magical Thinking

It's bad enough that Trump himself is an incompetent nutter. But the whole family are dim-witted parasites. It's like the Bush household, but creepier.

How Trump and His Shabby Chancers Covered Up the Coronavirus in Five Days
The NYT wrote:The strongest critics of the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic point to its flat-footedness and the consequences of time lost.

But the full account looks worse. Over the last five days of February, President Trump and senior officials did something more sinister: They engaged in a cover-up.

...

So the president’s top advisers took to the airwaves with a united purpose: to deny the truth.

That Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Azar appeared at a news briefing, public health professionals including Dr. Anthony Fauci behind him, and discussed Dr. Messonnier’s comments. “We’re trying to engage in radical transparency with the American public as we go through this,” he declared. But within 20 seconds of that statement, he uttered state propaganda. “Thanks to the president and this team’s aggressive containment efforts,” he said, coronavirus “is contained.”

That same day, Larry Kudlow, the president’s National Economic Council director, in direct response to Dr. Messonnier’s comments, told CNBC: “We have contained this. I won’t say airtight, but pretty close to airtight.”

Don't give me ideas!

Look, by my reading of the tea leaves we're a couple of missteps from something far worse than people imagine, and we know exactly who's likely to take those missteps.

Yes, I've said my bit. I will leave it with everyone now.

Captain Coronavirus denied it, then couldn't manage it, and has returned to denying it. Why would the Effwit-in-Chief take responsibility to do the hard yards and lead responsibly during a crisis? There's no quick glory in it for him, and it's a skill he's never ever practiced, unlike golf and lying.

What a vile, cowardly disgrace of a human being. An utter disaster for the US and the rest of the planet.
