Is the daughter taking her kitty cats with her?
Thanks M. The cats might shift if my daughter buys a place in Sidanee (housing prices are becoming more affordable now) or if she rents a place that allows tenants to have pets)

She & her BF have a puppy. The youngest is annoyed that she left her cats with us but Mrs WPT won’t have that

Drove up to Toc this morning, first time since Easter.

Beautiful sunny day.

Quick bit of shopping after unpacking then whippersnipped the whole yard and mowed the back. Little rain forecast overnight won't stop me mowing the front and nature strips tomorrow but the back is thicker and needed to be done before.

Sitting out the front, having a beer, sun swinging round onto me, life is good

My youngest sister has set mum up with an iPad, email address and mobile internet access. She has organised it thru her Telstra account as we don’t want mum to worry about extra bills.

Mum will be participating in her 1st Zoom meeting with the family tonight

We will now be able to talk to her via FaceTime instead of just phone calls. :D

Both daughters sent a fantastic package for Mothers Day given we can’t go out for our traditional brunch:

A huge bunch if flowers
A big box from “Meatsmith” containing some fancy-shmancy free range eggs, some fancy shmancy streaky bacon, a loaf of kew bakery sourdough, a jar of “gentleman’s relish” a jar of rhubarb compote and a baked cheesecake to die for ( we had the cheesecake earlier after dinner with a cup of tea) with a lovely card.

Wow, nice one

Very nice indeed!

last night i was thinking of what to bloody cook for dinner, and hubby walked in with fresh prawns, scallops and squid, and proceeded to cook it all! it was our 27th anniversary on Friday. This morning i woke up to puppy kisses, coffee and an omelette with a gluten free bagel with hummus, and a this season footy Guernsey! ecstatic! my team of the century one is huge, and the Shaw and Swan ones are a bit outdated!

Junior is making me lunch and dinner apparently, the eldest will be home around dinner i guess, hubby is working, so its walk the dog, gym, sauna, bath with netflix, and editing today!

happy mothers day to the mums, and the dads who are mums too, and the pet mums!! hell happy Sunday everyone, hopefully next sunday, a little freedom! cheers!

Go Pies!

Nice work but I'm not quite getting it.

OK, Here's bacon and eggs on toast for breakfast, you just need to cook it yourself.

How do eggs become fancy shmancy? Do you feed the chooks glitter?

The gentlemens relish, very noice, not quite sure of the mothers day vibe but walk that off, I really don't get where the rhubarb fits in this unless it's supposed to go on the cheesecake?

The eggs were non-homophobic free range: they're from Daylesford
The bacon was smoked streaky free range kosher pork
The relish is yum, haven't had the rhubarb yet & our gluttony meant that we had the cheesecake before trying the rhubarb jam
I had a couple of slices of the sourdough bread
I forgot to add there was a bottle of Prosecco

Had a bunch of meringue mix left over after making the lemon meringue tarts, so I put some baking paper on a bread and butter plate, tipped it on and whacked it in the airfryer.

Lowest temp setting is 130 which is too high, so I dropped it into the zone below, best guess at near 100c, cooked it for an hour with the occasional messing with the temp, let it sit for another hour before opening and looks like I've made a good Pavlova base. The old girl is all happy, I have to go buy cream and berries tomorrow.

Finally got the results of my coronavirus test from last Tuesday.

Negative, which is good.

But geez they make it hard. You get onto the DHHS website and through the FAQ's there's a statement that if you've been waiting longer than 5 days for a test result call this number. So I did. It's the Victorian Coronavirus hotline, and it's set up to direct just about everyone to the national hotline. The only way to get through to an actual person on the Victorian line is to take the IVR options that are you're currently self isolating and you need urgent assistance as you don't have enough stuff to survive. Every other option pushes you to the National hotline where, if you ask them for your results, they tell you to ring the victorian line. It's like that part in Catch 22 where you need to get a form to order the form that you need to get order the form that you need to fill in to get what you were after but to get that first form you need another form and they're out of those at the moment.

So after getting to a person, I just say hey I got tested at Greensborough Plaza over a week ago and haven't heard anything. Too easy, call Dorovich Pathology on this number. OK. Call them, wait for 10 minutes while they tell me repeatedly they're really busy and I can fax them a request for results. Finally through, name and date of birth, result was negative.

try cancelling telstra!!!

seriously though, why do they make it so hard? if they had your mobile they could surely organise an automated text along the lines of;" good news, you may continue to not go about your daily routine!! or "warning warning, an unmarked van with men in white rubber suits is about to round the corner and throw you in the back, this is of course if you showed your trust in this great nation by downloading the app, (and by the way, thats too much alcohol for any family of 5 in your weekly Dan Murphy shop, and, i see you, no trawling for toilet paper, your arse aint that big) and have allowed us to track your every move. you have Corana!! have a lovely day!!:

Hah.

That's the thing, they had my mobile, it's supposed to take 24-72 hours, if you test negative you get a text if it's positive you get a call. (or the van with the guys in hazmat suits and tasers)

I guess something in their system broke down, I'd hate to be the type who followed orders and was panicky, you'd be hiding in the house, self isolating waiting for a call or text that doesn't come.
