The Last Dance

Post by Presti35 »

Finally it's here. Been waiting for this one since it was announced 2 years ago.

The Netflix/ESPN collaboration; The Last Dance.

The 10-part documentary about the Chicago Bulls and their 1997-98 season. I've just finished episode one. It's great so far. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in sports.

Michael Jordan: N.B.A. Champ, Marketing Legend and … Toxic Worker?

Experts say a difficult superstar is rarely worth the cost to workplace morale. Does the Bulls icon prove them wrong?

So much talk coming from this series.

Half the people out there saying he's the best ever and the other half saying he was horrible.

And all the comparisons between eras, teams and players is getting too much.

Well, both halves could be right. Best ever basketballer doesn't mean best ever person. Horrible person doesn't mean bad basketballer.

It's been announced that a similar thing from ESPN is in the works for Tom Brady.

The ABC's Australian Story has a two-parter on Luc Longley.

Part I is up on iview: https://iview.abc.net.au/video/NC2102Q019S00 .

His Bulls coach and teammates (including Jordan) were interviewed.

The last dance was brilliany TV, as was the ABC piece on Luc Longley.

Dimma is indeed a dimwit if he's putting himself anywhere near the same solar system as Jordan.

The Longest Feud

Botham v I. Chappell

Ch. 9, Tuesday, 7.30pm.

Botham: “Three words to describe Ian Chappell: sad and lonely.”

Chappell: “He’s a bully, he’s a coward, and those are all the good things I can say.”

The Longest Feud was more interesting than it promised to be... 'Cos it wasn't all about the silly feud.

Botham says he may've been made captain too early. But defends his captaincy record, noting 10 out of his 12 Tests were against the WIndies. I def agree that it was insane for the ECB to make it an Ashes Test-by-Test decision whether to keep Botham as captain. How can you captain under those conditions? How can the team play well under those conditions? Resigning was the only sensible course.
