Dandrews' strength of leadership vs. Scotty's dithering

Post by watt price tully »

Daniel Andrews once again shows a strength of leadership and decisive action by sacking a minister accused of corruption is clear, decisive and assertive. He has sacked a minister and referred the matter to the Police.

Compare and contrast with Scotty from Marketing who:

1. Keeps the error laden and incompetent Robodebt minister for f*ckups but a religious liberal fundraising nutter who falsely claimed money for his internet usage before being shamed.
2. Keeps and does nothing about Angus Taylor despite his wilful lying about the Lord Mayor of Sydney, conflict of interests with respect to rural landholdings and trying to influence decisions regarding native grasses let alone saying he put Naomi Klein in her place at Oxford when she was in New York at the time
3. Making the National Party minister fall on Scotty’s sword over the corrupt sports rorts affair
4. The current rorting by The Federal libs of claiming Lib fundraising as personal expenses

Well done Premier Andrews.

Nasty little piece of work.

Lets not kid ourselves about why Danny boy acted so quickly on this, it had nothing to do with the factional corruption stuff, branch stacking, paying memberships etc, all of which is highly unethical and against labor rules but not necessarily actually illegal.

It was the language he used in talking about a female colleague that had Albo on the phone to Danny last night
The secret recordings broadcast last night include threats to the career of Ms Williams, Victoria’s Minister Prevention of Family Violence.

“I will f***ing force her out of the ministry, that f***ing stupid b**ch, when Andrews goes … She’s a stupid, stupid moll,” he says. “I’m going to f***ing knock her f***ing head off. She’s a f***ing psycho bitch.”

Fact is, it was well known what he was and what he was like, previously kicked out of cabinet for behaviour toward a woman yet Dan bought him back and made him a minister.

We'll see how decisive he is as the rest of the ministers involved in the branch stacking etc come under the spotlight.

So it's even weaker than a Machiavellian political assassination, it's just damage and narrative control.

Still, someone recorded and leaked it for a reason.

100% pure damage control. When a minister is recorded saying he'll knock the fkn head off a female minister, he's cooked.

Ridiculous thread premise but that's what ya get.

He didn't need photos, he controlled the numbers.

Good investigative report. https://www.theage.com.au/national/vict ... 552g2.html

Once that recording of him threatening a woman was broadcast, he was toast. Albo was on the phone to Dan last night

What will be interesting is what action Decisive Dan will take against all the others implicated in the branch stacking. Leaving it to the cops is a total cop out, he knows it's not illegal, just a serious breach of party rules and highly unethical.

Regardless, the Premier has acted very quickly. A call with Albo is neither here nor there; just timing and who will say what when.

He was decisive and acted quickly which is what one wants. At the same time Andrews has not just referred it to the Police but to the ICAC as well. That’s not a cop out given it’s all been done in less than 12 hours since the airing of the secret recordings.

Good riddance to faction head.

So far very impressive by Andrews. No Hawaii holiday, no favours for the religious nutters of the pentacostal kiddie fiddlers and sticking to his guns over Covid-19.

(I’m in Sidanee currently and they don’t know what social distancing is here. Unbelievable when you walk down the street or go shopping etc.)

Just sending the State bankrupt and signing up our grandchildren to be Chinese debt slaves. There's nothing admirable about firing someone for threatening physical violence against a female minister, even Joh Bjelke-Petersen would fire someone for that.

No, he's just selling out our state to China instead by signing up to the Belt and Road initiative.

Main reason? Because he can. He recently won another election, he's led the nation through the Covid crisis, and his popularity is huge.

In politics, popularity is power, and Dan has it. Right now he can run this scumbag out of public life, and the scumbag knows it.

At any other time there would be a power struggle, and a heavy price to pay. Right now, Dan can act as he sees fit and they can't touch him.

Dan da Man!

If all he had was the branch stacking, he couldn't. He promoted the scumbag back to a minister after winning the last election, despite knowing "his good friend" was a scumbag because of his control of the numbers.

It was the audio of the the comments about the female minister that gave Dan the silver bullet, plus the phone call from Albo that gave him the balls to use it.
