1: The taser had already been expended, and the officer knew that as it was his own taser.
2: A taser - a device explicitly designed to do no lasting harm - is is no way, shape, or form a deadly weapon to be considered in the same breath as a gun - a weapon expressly designed to kill.

1. And yet the attorneys for the officer have said “ Fearing for his safety, and the safety of the civilians around him, Officer Rolfe dropped his taser and fired.

2. The same prosecutor who filed these charges the week before said “ a taser is a deadly weapon under Georgia law”

Like most things any harm is reduced by efficient training - a defibrillater in the hands of an untrained person can be deadly.

The accusation of kicking him once he was down - yep watch the video he kicked the taser from his hand JUST before he commenced CPR - that’s on his body cam recording!

I’m waiting to see all the evidence presented and tested as it should be for all legal cases surely!
