Absolutely gutted for Howie. We have lost our magnificent, high flying back-line general. F*&k the footy gods. Doubt we can recover from that. My heart bleeds for him.

It's official - I hate GWS!!!!!!!

Plus, I will never listen to a those anti-Collingwood channel 7 commentators again. They were just about peeing their pants over Toby Greene and GWS in general.. Pathetic.

I am sure we would have if we could have. They are not easy to acquire. We didnt try to get Tom Lynch for nothing. But that was Cox's first game. You have to give him slack. Let's see how he goes next week.

Early diagnosis for Howe is MCL and PCL according to Buckley.

What does that mean in terms of potential to recover?

Let’s not underestimate the loss of Howe....he was in AA form and an absolute rock for us down back.

I’m just devastated that he will be potentially out for 12 months.

At the end of the day, we beat ourselves, only two lousy points, not as if we were smashed by last yrs GF team, and it was on their pissing ground too. No Maynard stuff up and we would have won, despite our poor kicking for goal, set shot, that definitely cost us as well. We must kick those set shot goals, its so deflating to miss them. We must learn a lot from this loss, and come back hard next week.

That is devastating news. FGS, I hope he recovers well. I am devastated hearing about Jez's injury. He is such a cornerstone of our magnificent defence. That knocks the stuffing out of me. I hope he is OK for next year. FFS, we are always cursed by fortune. The only light i can see is maybe the Gods are testing us, like they did to Richmond when they lost Rance. Nathan Murphy, your chance has come.

I don't know the answer to that.

Buckley didn't sound confident he would be returning any time soon.

But we lost by 2 points. We kicked our way out of it.

Every quick kick out of the centre...and our forwards are behind!!! Every time!!! HOW!!! How the hell are we not in front of our defender!?!?!? It’s pathetic. Absolutely unacceptable.

Bad kicking for goal is bad football, always has been, for over 100 years, and tonight showed that up bigtime.

...and how did Howe not get that holding the man call on the wing/boundary when he was dumped to the ground without the ball just seconds prior to him destroying his knee? How??? F these umpires, in particular #12. It’s deplorable.

Not determined yet. On SEN this morning he didn’t say he wasn’t going. He is not sure yet what the hub means for players and partners. He did not say he was not going: that is speculation at this point in time.

We'll capitulate from here on.
Yep. Howe is close to our best player. No chance now! Such a vital player.

I don’t think that’s right. We’ve recruited only rookies and other club’s rejects and has-beans to play as KPFs. Tonight, we played a second-ruck at FF, and a VFL full back at CHF. It’s like a death wish. The entire game plan depends on our defence being solid and our three champion midfielders (Grundy, Pendlebury and Sidebottom) dominating the opposition. Once again, we’ve seen that you’ve got to have some more talent around the top footballers to spread the opposition’s attention. That one-dimensional GWS style can only beat us because we seem to prefer winning on work-ethic than on talent - at least, that’s how it looks each week when the team is picked.
