There's no statement on the club website yet, but there's really not much they can say in the circumstances.

Was investigated by police in 2018 with no charges laid.
Must have new evidence.

And why was only DeGoey named and not the other accused?

Collingwood media release
Collingwood player Jordan De Goey was today charged with one count of indecent assault relating to an historical incident in 2015.

At Collingwood's insistence, and with full co-operation from De Goey, the matter was investigated by the AFL Integrity Unit and Victoria Police in 2018. No charges were laid.

De Goey will remain in the Collingwood football program while the legal process takes its course.

Neither Collingwood nor De Goey is in a position to make further comment.

If you want a positive, this and his form mean he should be a cheap resign or a bad investment by another club if they want to overpay.

Because the other likely isn't a high profile sports person. And I'm not being cute, Vic Police didn't name De Goey, the Club obviously got on the front foot, naming him in a statement before the media could.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
