It was reported today in the Herald Sun that starting this year the premiership coach will be awarded the Jock McHale medal. - http://www.afl.com.au/news/story_248936.htm
The genesis of this medal was here on this Bulletin Board and came from a post by Joffa ( http://www.magpies.org.au/nick/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001771.html )which contained the following paragraph:
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>In the story eddie expresses wishes to call the premiership cup the Mchale Barassi cup well i dont like that idea but its better than nothing dont get me wrong barassi is a legend of the game but im a selfish proud collingwood bastard and barassi was and is a collingwood hater and it would be a shame(my opinion) to somewhat to have Mchales name linked to barassi's.
I would sooner love the idea of awarding the premiership coach of each season with the Mchale medal.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
I'm not at liberty to divulge the sequence of events that took place between Joffa's post and the decision by the AFL to award the medal, but I can assure you that the medal did originate from Joffa's post.
It has been demonstrated again and again this year that we the supporters are heard through this medium and this time the influence has extended beyond the Club to include the A.F.L. as a whole.
Congratulations Joffa and I'm sure that the recognition that you deserve for this brilliant idea of immortalising the greatest coach the A.F.L. has ever seen will be forthcoming.

Congratulations, Joffa.
I'm so glad that scum-bag, Barassi, didn't get his name on the bloody thing as well. Jock deserves the naming rights all to himself.
And won't it be wonderful, when the inaugural winner of the award is a former Collingwood captain.
Go Mark Williams ... go the Teal Blues ...
All we need now is the Joffa Corfe Medal for the best chant-leader.
