It's interesting. Maybe it's a combination of the current stage 4 lockdown meaning I can't go anywhere and being physically restricted not allowed to lift >5kg, I'm seeing stuff around the house with new eyes.

Stuff that's been the way it is for 5, 10, 20 years I'm seeing it and seeing ways to fix it when for years it's been "Meh, that's what it is"

I'm not just seeing it, but motivated to do something and enjoying a new found level of patience where I'm happy to take my time and do it right.

Front of the house has a door with 4 glass panels and a double hung window the same height either side. The weather isn't conducive to painting but I'm able to take my time and work on some 70+ year old timber that needs some work.

You just can’t beat beautiful old wood doors.

I’m also in full fixer upper mode! I’ve managed to turn downstairs upside down, today, I’ve felt crap, so looking at the piles of to be sorted is very depressing! It’ll be there tomorrow !

Yeah, I'm working on 15 things at once with no plan, making slow progress and loving it. Mental preparation for being unemployed come 1/11

Sounds good to meet! So I bucked up and finished all but the laundry! Tomorrow! Want to get everything finished because we start our last project next week,! It’s going to be full on with the Covid requirements I’ll be glad when it’s done. Hopefully hubby finally retires! But not full time retires, drive me nuts!

Do you think your done for good? What does that feel like!

^ After Sunday, lockdown will be half complete.

Only three weeks left, and with the numbers heading in the right direction that should retain some optimism and hope among the public.

We’ve been in lockdown for over six weeks! We’ve had the longest time locked down of anywhere in the world and recent comments sound like he has no intention of letting us out on September 13.

That's what I worry about as well.

There was discussion that testing had fallen in the past few days, but if less people are going out it would only make sense that less people would be displaying flu or cold symptoms, so therefore it wouldn't be necessary for them to go out and get tested.

Answer, I'm not sure and interesting.

I'm good at HR work, it pays better than flipping burgers but I can't deal with the bullshit anymore, specifically people who have a far higher opinion of themself than is warranted.

I can't afford to fully retire just now, so I'll figure things out on the fly. I'll be looking at what I can do for Mental stimulation that also pays something without getting sucked into the vortex of the company values etc.

We have a regular all HR hookup using Microsoft Teams and all the positive little petals go ADHD on the chat function with heart emoticons and so much positive language I have to fight the urge to projectile vomit. I can't even fake that shit any more. It's like the business equvilent of Stepford Wives

hehe, that is one benefit of a family business, dont have to fake nice!

so continuing with spring cleaning and reorganising, not much else to do today! i cleaned out the hall cupboard, started on the laundry one, and bought a little bookcase carcas, a couple of shelves for it and a glass top, for next to my desk for my photoprinter to sit on, and to house trays for daily jobs, as im sick of my dining room table looking like an office! bought it from ikea about 2pm, and its getting delivered....tomorrow!

meanwhile 1 week on the coat rack from kmart is somewhere between here and Perth! and im so glad i paid express for my phone, although im not sure the company knows what that means, still no phone!
