These are the players that Collingwood need to trade in order to excell into a top 4 postion next year 2002. They are the following.
Mckee(another pathetic dud from a rip off trade from richmond)
Burns(his time is up and he is just buying time)
Betherus(not improving and another one buying time good bye)
Freeborn(he is soo anyoing to watch the turn over king no guts)
Lane(on the fringe to much and not excelling enough)
Presti(lacks the killer instinct and not tough enough )
Wasley (not enough games and shut out of the senoirs)
Tuckey(not enough games and shut out of the senoirs)
Ukovic(not enough games and is shut out by r.lonie)
I could throw ant. rocca in there also but he is an integal part of Collingwoods forward line and Malthouse is intent on developing him the best he can.
As eddie said Collingwood are not taking any short cuts and hard decisions are been made the ensure continued success and top 4 positions. Time now for Collingwood to excell to top 4 and if that means throwing out sentiment to players such as burns do be it.
GOOD OLD COLLINGWOOD UNITED FOREVER AND EVER AMEN GOD BLESS THEM ALL

How could you almost throw Anthony Rocca in there? He's in our Best 3 Players for the Year and an outside-chance for the Copeland.

Rocca is more than an outside chance for the Copeland. After a terrible start he has been as consistent as anyong and a match winner on a number of occassions. The early favouites all fell away and Ant. stood up. Even last week he was instrumentle in the 3rdQ turn around.
He also deserves double votes for kicking 6 against Carlton and winning that game off his own boot.

you are entitled to your opinion but some of your comments are extremely harsh.
how can you say that burns is "buying time"?? in case you haven't noticed, he has been INJURED for most of this year!! when he did play, he was magnificent, like against the kangaroos at manukah. a player as committed, tough and tenacious as burns is hard to come by. if he is traded, it better be a damn good trade. I don't think he'll go though.
with rupert, his time may be up at the club, however it's a bit hard to improve when your playing time has been limited.
I agree that presti is not attacking enough, but he is a great close checking defender who always gives a good account of himself. tall defenders are hard to come by, and he will be unlucky to go.
rocca has had his best year at the club and is a match winner on his day. he has shown fantastic leadership skills, can pinch hit in the ruck and will form an awesome forward rotation with tarrant, molloy and fraser.
c'wood may be only a few players away from being a flag threat, but they should follow this year's trend of recruiting for what they require, rather than just going for the big name recruit.
