Metallica played after tonight's NRL

Post by Pies4shaw »

This is a public service announcement. Those of you who, like me, are still saddened by looking at the credit-card refund email for Metallica tickets from their cancelled Australian tour might like to know that they are apparently performing Enter Sandman by live-stream at 7.30 tonight, before the Broncos/Roosters game.

Far out. The drama in getting the tickets too. Only for it to be canned. Then Kiss did it to me a few months later.

Oh well.

Seems like this is being used as click bait - the performance is after the game, in what is a very strained sense of “from 7.30”. Anyway, I suppose it’s one way to try to get people to watch an entire Brisbane Broncos game, given how they’re travelling this year.

Good to hear James in such good voice - he’s obviously recovered. It was a three-hour wait to hear them but they were excellent. Pity they cut to footage of Broncos players knocking the ball on while Kirk was soloing. Anyway, I hope some of you other Metallica fans enjoyed it, too.

I saw them live once, went to a Big Day Out style festival some years back with my daughter. Guessing more than 5 years ago, less than 12.

Yeah, they can rock. still love their version of Ecstasy of the Gold with the San Fran philharmonic orchestra from Metallica S&M. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0_JvuBpDB8
