Happy for the youngest. She’s finishing her Juris Doctor degree (post grad law) this year. Just mentioned in passing she got a HD (90%) for her subject in Human Rights law and Terrorism. Had a huge amount of words to hand in. The course was run by Michael (Daniel) Mori, the US lawyer who defended David Hicks.

She works so hard: she’s doing competition law now, just finished her sessions on Royal Commissions and is doing a virtual placement in Family Law at a Community Legal Centre.

Good Stuff

Ancestry DNA just sent me an update on my ancestry. They do this semi regular as they update their data.

Good news is I'm only 6% English :D

43% Scottish from the Highlands,
39% Connacht region Ireland,
6% Swedish

Messed up mix :P 8)

I'd like to take one of those! Would be interesting to find out whether I am actually one-eighth Greek or if my great-grandfather was Turkish or something else instead.

Piss easy to do, and you can upload results to other sites to get a cross section.

My first cousin and her daughter did it and they showed up in my results as a DNA match likely first and second cousin, so it does work.

How much did it cost you? A friend did 23&me and it was around $200, if I recall correctly.

^ Have you been tested to see whether you have either of the Viking gene irregularities that renders people more than usually prone to DVTs (highly prevalent amongst people with Irish ancestry)? I have both.
