Had an Oops moment today.
Went to Office works to collect some printer ink, on the way home called in at BP express to top up the petrol.
Put some petrol in, walked in to pay, handed over the cash and suddenly realised I wasn't wearing a mask. It was still hanging on the rear view mirror.
The woman behind the counter hadn't said anything, as soon as I realised I apologised profusely. She didn't seem concerned but I was really embarrassed.
Oops

Saw a lady running through the car park yesterday, then noticed she wasn’t wearing a mask and was racing back to her car to get one.
Shit happens, no need to apologise, only a very small number of people get upset by others not wearing masks.
I went out for a walk the other day, got halfway to my first destination when I realised, only because I saw people wearing masks. Decided no point going back, kept walking and grabbed a mask when I got there before continuing on.
Even the cops won’t fine you unless you refuse to wear one.

Yeah, I apologised because I felt in the wrong. Woman behind the counter would have to put up with all sorts of numbats, I just wanted to make it clear I wasn't doing it deliberately.
That's why I leave the cloth mask hanging on the rearview mirror, so I don't have to remember to take one. I also have some surgical ones in a zip lock bag in the front seat in case I need to go somewhere I have to be near people.

It's funny just after I posted that, I went out on the same walk and got 200m down the road and went, oops, no mask, this time I went back. Although in the entire walk there and back I only saw 3 people and 2 weren't wearing masks anyway!
I keep all my masks in the door of the car, but since I forgot once and had a grumpy person over to fix something that stayed well away from me not wearing one, I now keep a packet of cheap chinese shit in the house as well.

I’ve walked a couple of hundred meters from the car then gone back to get the face mask dangling over internal rear vision mirror.
Similarly, when riding to work when I do I’ve gone a 1/2 km and sensing something’s not right then realising I wasn’t wearing my Bike helmet. Done that a coupla times.
Ditto when going to get a coffee down the street at work & I’m wearing the headset we use for telephone triage
