Adams accepts fine for rough conduct on Vlastuin

Post by WhyPhilWhy? »

I don't remember the incident - is it featured on the replay?

Taylor Adams has accepted a $2000 fine after being cited by the Match Review Panel

Same here. Then when I saw it I didn't understand. Players do this all the time - shepherding the player on the mark.

The richmond player on De Goey earlier should have been done also if thats the new standard. De Goey had clearly gone past the ball when he was bumped intentionally.

One step closer to eliminating a unique aspect of our game...

I understand the issue surrounding concussion and all, but if you're on the field you need to always be prepared for contact. Like a boxer in the ring, you just have to prepare to be hit.

This saddens me somewhat.

How would Siri know when to answer "Hey Siri" unless it is listening in to everything you say?

Same thing happened to De Goey but the offending player Richmond wasn’t sighted double standards that’s for sure these fines are pretty $$$$$

Well done to our acting captain Taylor Adams

Post by Mr Miyagi »

He’s usually the first to jump in for push and shove argy bargy, but he kept a cool head at half time, didn’t get sucked in and pulled our players out of it. Yeah we got flogged, but Tay’s maturity is one big positive. Wish it’d fired us up though, the Weagles were laughing at us the way Brisbane used to during their triple premiership years.

Yes, I noticed that too. There and elsewhere throughout the game, you could see that he took the role seriously and did his best to live up to the absent captain's example. It's a pity that the game itself was such a downer as it was a good audition for the future captaincy, should he put his hand up for it down the track.
