I wish I had a hedgehog in my garden. Perhaps if I build a hedgehog-highway and wait? Maybe echidnas will come?

Does it go through holes in your fence and up a ramp?

Yes.

Well, it is small enough to fit easily between the wires of the wallaby-proof-fence mesh. It comes up out of the creek and into our dam anytime it feels like it.

Well, I say "it" but it's actually at least two, judging by the different sizes of them one male and the other one female. And they don't go up a ramp as such, they go right up over the damn wall and back down to the water. They are frequent visitors; we see one or the other in the dam as many days as not. Once in a while they are both there.

They stay for anything from an hour to a several days, usually for half a day or more and are very active. They don't seem to mind us at all, just go about their business.

Fantastic Tannin. We had one in Yackandandah when Mrs WPT & I lived there in the early 90’s. Saw it quite often but not every day. The creek next to our place provided our water and the home for the platypus.
