Rintoul and Burns

Post by Legga »

With all the trade talk, and people saying that we need some hard at it midfielders to help Bucks and O'Bree, I reckon that we are overlooking 2 players who had minimal impact this year because of injury. Scott Burns and Chad Rintoul are 2 quality mid-fielders who fit the bill perfectly, and were unable to perform for us this season because of injury. I think the last game against the Poos showed that with Burns and Rintoul fit, and in the midfield, we would struggle to fit other "new" players in the team.

Add to that mix, Alan Didak, who will walk away with the Rising star in 2002, as well as Scotland, who needs more time in the seniors. These 2 backed up by the pace of Chipper, Rhyse Shaw and Leon in the midfield, and I think we really have quality there for the future without recruiting, or possibly trading for more midfielders.

We need a quality ruckman, although they don't grow on trees, and a quality backman. Richo may be past his best, and if McKee can't ruck, then throw him back in defence, the way Richscum do with Ben Holland. McKee will never be a ruckman, so why not use him where he may be of value, on a tall CHF

I am with you Legga.
I am happy with the selection of players for the midfield so I don't see it as a priority. Burns was sorely missed and IF he can have an injury free season will make an instant and dramatic improvement. That puts us in the finals.
