Absolutely agree with holding on to him but according to news, Collingwood is having a “fire sale” of some players including Stevo. Mark my words, this will be one of THE stupidest things the club can do and will come back to bite them on the arse. Like Treloar, Stevo doesn’t want to leave Collingwood but is being forced out. I’m angry as hell and will let the club know how I feel. We are being bloody crazy.

Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!
Goals are much harder to come by than they used to be.simon tonna wrote:Playing him in the back line was just plain stupid. No other word for it.
He's one of the few players on our list that is capable of kicking multiple goals in a game, and doing so on a regular basis. Despite the crap ball movement and delivery.
So of course move him to where he cannot kick goals. If he seemed at a loss for confidence it was probably because he wondered, like the rest of us, WTF was going on.
Probably just as well we couldn't land Jeremy Cameron - Buckley would earmark him for back pocket.

But surely there would need to be something else involved - they aren't going to give us pick 2 for Stevo alone..?Presti35 wrote:Geez, two days ago, they were sounding like Stevo was staying. Now all of a sudden North has popped up.
I think keeping Stevo is the way to go, but sheesh if pick 2 was involved, it has to be considered.

Yes, well thats the thing. Might have to include pick 16? next years first? another player - Sier? Phillips? Might end up being too much for a guy we took with pick 6 and won the RS award just three seasons back. The Boy Who Cried Wolf wrote:But surely there would need to be something else involved - they aren't going to give us pick 2 for Stevo alone..?Presti35 wrote:Geez, two days ago, they were sounding like Stevo was staying. So many ****-ups. Why was this kid getting paid 600,000 a year, on the back of one decent season?!?! Now he's in the position of being sold off at a loss because of some incompentent manager's bungling. Not his fault we offered such a ridiculous sum of money which clearly could not and cannot be justified.
This is not the way to build a team that plays for each other. In any case, if we're going to be paying part of his salary at North, and we'll have to pay someone else as well, are we really saving much?
Surely we can go to him and ask for a pay cut, and tell JDG, Grundy etc to take a bit of a cut etc as well to keep everyone together.
Terrible stuff. I think we'll really struggle next year.
