If we were unable to develop such a prodigious young talent, then it says more about failings than it does his imo.

I hope Treloar stays just so he can stick it up the club.

There must be a serious issue why Collingwood let this player go.

No power club enquired about him. That says a lot.

Without wanting to state the obvious, something is not right.

Since he got busted with the gambling issue, Stevo hasn’t been right.

We are not privy to a lot of what happens behind closed doors but Stevo looked timid this year. Lost. There was a game if you recall when he had a paddock to run in front of him and he stopped and looked confused. In 2018 he had clear vision. In 2019, he started to fall apart. This year he was completely lost.

No coach, no matter how hopeless, lets go of a talent like Stevo and let alone for pick 26 if there aren’t serious reasons.

Collingwood and particularly Eddie owes it to the membership to disclose why this has occurred. If they don’t want to hang the guy at least say Stevo’s personal issues were the reason.

Getting rid of Stepho was the right decision.

How it was handled is an indictment on the club's hierarchy, including the "shit that don't stink" coach.

I'm very disappointed to lose such an elite talent as Stephenson but absolutely gutted to lose him for a lousy 2nd round pick.
Clearly Collingwood knows that regardless of Stephenson's football talent there must be some personality failings that they figured were irreparable and were a threat to the stability of the club culture. However the way Stephenson was treated on his way out seems incredibly harsh and doesn't sound very professional. If true there must have been some point that Stephenson's behavior in the Hub marked his papers as finished with Collingwood. We will probably never know all the facts on this but if he was so horrendous why didn't the club ban him for the season and let the football world know he was available to trade for the right offer. With his displayed talent I'm sure there would have been first round draft pick offers for his clearance. This appears to be a complete stuff up that demonstrates total incompetence of our list management team. :(

From Fox Footy:
Speaking on Fox Footy’s Trading Day, North Melbourne champion David King said the comments from Stephenson so soon after his departure were “disrespectful”, but that if they were accurate the Pies had to ask themselves some serious questions.

“It is strange that that information (not opening up to the group enough) would get to Jaidyn at that point of the season,” King said.

“If he isn’t opening up to the group what hope have you got in October? That’s a conversation for Round 6 ... they’re updates you get along the way, especially at this age. He’s got all the tools. I’m staggered if Nathan has decided to give him this information as he’s walking out the door.”

Read the picks after he was taken in 2017. Sad. Plenty of talent and key forwards rewards. Naughton...

If he was a such a pea heart why didn't the great one Derek Hine pass on him?

Hine has to go.
Turns pick 6 into 30 and claims a win.

THIS !! Look, im as angry as anyone at losing Stevo, see my previous posts i still think we should have gone at least one more season with him see how he weint then make the call. BUT, this has been nagging at me last hour, if he is the brilliant talent we think he is WHY was only ONE club after him ?? why not big clubs like Carlton Hawks, Dons Cats etc WHY did NO BIG club want him, why only Norf, a dead beat Club on poverty line with a very small fan base, and in danger of being re located by the League to Tassie,

WHY only Lowly Norf, with no coach yet and NO other big club? WHY, what do they know bout Stevo themselves ? :o :o

On the bright side, Stevo won’t come back to bite us. North will be cellar dwellers for 5-7 years.

He’s a small forward. Looked completely out of his depth in the mid field. Can’t tackle. One way runner.
