Re: Stephenson deserved to be traded
Not sure if your mail is the same as mine but we all need to ask ourselves why someone of Stephenson's ability would be offloaded so cheaply. With what I know now I'm ok with the decision.Mr Miyagi wrote:Message me for details if you want. I hope the door didn’t hit the little prick’s ass on the way out
In a nutshell, big attitude issues and multiple warnings throughout the year. Seriously I think we’ve dodged a bullet and the next big Collingwood scandal by trading him, if you want to believe it or not. Club made the right choice, trust me on that. Club won’t say it but I will.
Also everyone demanding answers from the club - think about this...
If the club had divulged their reasons before the draft ended we would either have not done the trade or have received even less.
How would it look if we now came out with the reasons afterwards? What would be achieved?

I started thinking like that but then I thought, hang on, at least Stephenson was a trade, even if it was one sided.Colin G Wood wrote:Not sure if your mail is the same as mine but we all need to ask ourselves why someone of Stephenson's ability would be offloaded so cheaply. So I guess our player welfare officer/s failed to help him deal with the issues or North either accepted him blind or had faith that their player support workers are much better than us. Either way it is not a good reflection on us.AN_Inkling wrote: There are clearly issues around Stephenson. No way we would have traded him otherwise.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

Mate are your asking people to think first? Maybe seek out some facts?Colin G Wood wrote:Not sure if your mail is the same as mine but we all need to ask ourselves why someone of Stephenson's ability would be offloaded so cheaply. With Stephenson we either failed at the draft or in the trade.
There does have to be limits on player behaviour though. Moving someone on for multiple breaches is fair enough. There will always be another club who's willing to take a chance on a young, talented player. Doesn't mean that club is better, just that he hadn't transgressed against them yet.
All hypothetical above. Not claiming to know anything about the reasons for Stevo's drop in value and trade.

Lol, people are really going to pretend the media which allegedly hates Collingwood has sat on a story of Stephenson doing something so bad the club gave him away for nothing?scoobydoo wrote:Mate are your asking people to think first? You sound like one of those people that think they can change a partner with love and devotion. Some people can’t be saved by another and need to learn shit for themselves.Lazza wrote:So I guess our player welfare officer/s failed to help him deal with the issues or North either accepted him blind or had faith that their player support workers are much better than us. And you know for a fact that Stepho was one of these irredeemable recalcitrants who can't be saved?dalyc wrote:You sound like one of those people that think they can change a partner with love and devotion. Exactly. Swannie did far worse than was revealed by the information from MrMiyagi. We have fallen big time if we were once able to deal with Swannie, but gave up on Stepho with such nonchalant ease.think positive wrote:Yeah as much as it adds to his attitude problem it should not have been insurmountable IMO, as I said Swan decking someone, Didak and the bikies, were far worse, and let’s not forget mr paymeamillion has to front court in April! when I get home I’ll pm you if you like
