I feel some pity for those that may miss a funeral or are missing their parents or whatever, but not enough to risk another lockdown.
I'm still shitty that the tennis is set to go ahead as I think that will be the cause of another six months of misery.
Problem is, we should be equipped to deal with it. They touted that their contact tracing had been improved to best in class and they now had the best systems and processes in place. If they don't trust them, and they clearly don't, that's a problem.
Tens of thousands of Victorians went up to regional NSW, many have been doing it for decades, 2nd and 3rd generation campers along the Murray and there is no justification for preventing these people from going home.
The justification for the hard border close was IMO utter bullshit. It was a knee jerk reaction with a side order of political pettiness.
And your comments reinforce the point I've believed now for a while, most Victorians are more scared of another lockdown than they are of the virus itself.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
Besides what everyone is missing is the border is closed hard to Victorians who’ve crossed the border yet anyone from NSW within 100kms of the border can travel freely into Victoria. It’s a complete and utter shambles! Made worse by the police on the border apparently being unaware of what towns are actually inside the bubble.
The case i mentioned had family who live further inside NSW get through the checkpoints without a problem.
There are over 3,000 Victorians still stranded inside NSW waiting on a permit and Victoria is proud of the fact they’ve so far processed about 200 requests in a few days...

Andrews early on did ask the Army for assistance on the border but was rejected. Thank you Sco Mo

The Sydney virus is contagious & the numbers being tested there is lower than in Victoria. The Berejiklian bug doesn't know boundaries and they didn't close down the borders quick enough.
One of the problems apart from NSW not acting quickly enough and not clamping down hard enough early enough is the varying symptomatology; some people are asymptomatic early on while others experience varying symptoms.

Because they were told 3 months earlier they would no longer be available
But that email obviously never made it to Dans desk either...
Or more likely he only asks for help when he knows it’s not available for more cheap political point scoring.

So the Victorian request for the army was denied by the federal Government despite the changed circumstances.
Was the army holidaying in Hawaii perhaps?
The premier of Victoria was asking for support & this was denied (if you choose to use the term "political point scoring" you can reverse that to the feds doing the same) so when a federal response was needed they went missing
The federal Government has responsibility for quarantining. They went missing exacerbating the Sydney virus spread and exacerbating Berejiklian and Bolnaro Bug.

Because in September they were told they would be withdrawn from border checkpoints to focus on other areas they are needed or yeah maybe give them a well deserved holiday!
When they’re available for 6 months Dan doesn’t want them, when they’re not suddenly he does but yeah it’s not cheap politics at all...
Also it’s obviously very concerning NSW doing on average 1,000 less tests a day, those 1,000 test could be hiding hundreds of unknown cases...Or Victoria’s is being boosted by 60,000 completely unnecessary tests of returned travellers from virus free regional NSW.
Remember when Brett Sutton used to stand up there day after day and tell us a complete waste of time doing testing of people with no symptoms? What’s changed? Or is Brett on holidays as well and clueless Jerome has full control?

Ba Bow, wrong.
Vic 169,000 tests in the past 7 days, NSW 192,000.
If the same logic applied within Victoria as it does to Victorians in regional NSW, you'd be self isolating now.

Sorry old son, utterly irrelevant (and incorrect anyway). They aren't turning people back due to lack of resources at checkpoints, they're demonstrating an appalling lack of contingency planning, making shit up on the run and generally getting it wrong.
Why weren't there detailed plans in place on how to deal with this kind of thing?
What will they do when they get another inevitable local infection from hotel quarantine? Lock us all down again?
Gladys is actually trying to balance human rights and needs and the economy along with the infection control measures. Andrews mob demonstrate all the compassion of the CCP when ruining people's lives.

eddiesmith wrote:But that’s the problem, anyone defending Victoria always goes to overseas examples, you never want to compare Victoria with other states in Australia. Why is that? Oh that’s right, none of them needed stage 4 lockdowns, curfews and mandatory statewide mask rules to contain their outbreaks.
You’re right, NSW haven’t had a major outbreak in this lot of cases and yet the comments from down south have been nothing but condemnation for them not resorting to the same draconian measures Victoria did!
I look at the overseas situation because everything about COVID in Australia Australia (including Victoria, as I already said) has been, in the grander scheme, comparatively trivial.

Rubbish young son Had the Army been up there when requested then they would have time to deal with multiple contingencies and not have to focus on sealing the border because Gladys failed to contain the Sydney bug. You even said the Police were not too sure what they were doing in full partly because of the haste needed to sort out the Berejiklian bug. She's abrogated her responsibility and now the Sydney Virus is starting to run rampant in Australia.
We are now facing lockdowns across Australia from the Sydney virus. BTW Sydney is in NSW
BBU: "Berejiklian's Balls Up" is gunna cost Australia big time just as we thought we had got across the line with other states doing the heavy lifting for her failure to act hard and act fast.

6/1/2021 Testing:
37,509 tested in Victoria and NSW tested 32,667
Just sayin'

Oh dear,
Tell me one more about the mask corruption with China and The Andrews
Goverment I'm sure that it's just as rivetting as the rest of your nonsense.
Your mate Gladys has f*cked it up big time for the rest of Australia. Let's just hope we can contain the Berejiklian Bug as this Sydney virus clusterf*ck is the last thing we all need.
