Vic 169,000 tests in the past 7 days, NSW 192,000.
If the same logic applied within Victoria as it does to Victorians in regional NSW, you'd be self isolating now.
6/1/2021 Testing:
37,509 tested in Victoria and NSW tested 32,667
Just sayin'
NSW does 22,000 more tests than Victoria in a week and you pick the one day Vic did more tests as evidence that Vic is testing more.

Except for one eency weency detail: they exported the Sydney virus to the rest of Australia. Sheesh. This isn’t complex nor partisan. Because they failed to deal with it adequately there are still cases all over Australia including Victoria. They’re done a poor job unless of course you completely ignore what they did. There are still active cases. Every immunologist and epidemiologist agrees: too little too late. They are the opinions which matter not a few knuckleheads on Nicks. What'sinaname wrote:Because they are proving to be proficient at identifying and dealing with breakouts without the need to lock down.watt price tully wrote:No new cases in NSW however there is one they are looking into who has come forward who may be part of another contact cluster.
Why they persist in having a crowd at the SCG beggars belief.
Credit where it's due, NSW seem to handle these breakouts really well.
Apart from that blaring hole in your argument you’re 100% correct.

There is no hole. They are / have handled the outbreak very well without the need to make massive lockdowns with no deaths, no shutdowns. Our outbreak went from bad to worse very quickly, while NSW appears to be able to control the outbreak.watt price tully wrote:Except for one eency weency detail: they exported the Sydney virus to the rest of Australia. You are however a 100% correct if you accept that exporting the Sydney virus elsewhere is handling things well. By that definition they were fantastic.
However according to the scientists they screwed up. According to professor Eddiesmith, Dr Stui and your self apparently not.
Now who to believe....give me time, it’s just so hard to seek which view one should value.

ABC media person says Liberal government stuffed up, 100% unbiased reporting there!
ABC media just upset that someone didn’t copy Dans playbook so it’s a screwup despite the outbreak barely spreading and less than a month in down to zero cases on multiple days. But that’s appalling, a 4 month stage 4 lockdown was the only way to do it...
If you want to keep living in a fantasy world where we get zero outbreaks, go for it. I look forward to you and Dr Swan condemning Annastacia now...

Your view is horribly skewed. You only look at scientists, immunologists. The ideal isn't to run and hide from the virus. It's to manage living with it. Your ideal world of being locked up when the virus is identified isn't living. It's prison. You should move to China or North Korea if you like this kind of life.watt price tully wrote:

Ask economists, employer groups, employee groups which isn the preferred response.

No Dave, that would be just as stupid. It's about getting the right balance. WPT is skewed too far one way. It's as bad as Sweden's approach to keeping everything open but having lots of deaths.Dave The Man wrote:So $$$$ comes before People's Lives? What'sinaname wrote:Your view is horribly skewed. Actually, the question does not arise. As we have seen in many places now, the economic damage from letting the virus loose is much worse than the economic damage from locking down to contain it.Dave The Man wrote:So $$$$ comes before People's Lives? What'sinaname wrote:

Once the virus is loose, even when shops and schools and pubs are open, people stay home, they stop spending, the economy tanks.
Oh, and they also get sick and lots of people die.
Contrary to the Trumpists, it is not "open up or wreck the economy", the facts demonstrate that it is "open up AND wreck the economy".

Bahh. YOU are advocating the Sweden approach. YOU are objecting to public health measures which save lives and save money. Get your facts straight. What'sinaname wrote:No Dave, that would be just as stupid. It's about getting the right balance. WPT is skewed too far one way. I am saying NSW seem to be doing a good job with a BALANCED response to COVID. Get your facts straight.Tannin wrote:Bahh. YOU are advocating the Sweden approach.
