I still expect them to either fvck up or find another excuse to lockdown and/or close borders for Easter.
They buggered up Mothers Day and Fathers Day, reluctantly allowed small gatherings for Christmas day then slammed the border to NSW shut on New Years Eve messing with umpteen thousands of people for no reason. I just can't see them allowing a normal Easter.

^ It's actually 0 days, since you ask: https://twitter.com/NSWHealth/status/13 ... 24/photo/1
Their hotel quarantine program is working so well that they are apparently giving the disease as community transmission to people who come into Australia without it.
NSW presently has 26 times as many active cases as Victoria - but you'll have to go to COVID Live to get that info. Unlike other States, NSW doesn't put that data on its dashboard.

So the only way Victoria will remain at zero is for none of the dozens of cases currently roaming the community to get tested and for them to admit the Government is incompetent and refuse to accept any returned travelers ever again.
Basically saying their health department is the worst in the country and no one would dispute it.

That's vert funny: you're asking Eddie for factsPies4shaw wrote:What "dozens of cases roaming the community"? If you're going to assert things like that, you need a viable basis for it. Victoria reported the results of 21,464 tests today. Not one was positive.

So at the practice match there was a seat free between groups of people. 1 seat. And worse, there were people directly in front catching the crap from the ‘Your a dickhead’ umpire yells. I’m really not seeing the point TBH.
as for a dozen roaming free, I would be surprised if there was a couple who for some reason don’t spread it, but a dozen is dozens within days, so no I don’t believe that.

is it just my stress levels going down? now i just have the anxiety of wondering if we get another wave, i just cant wait for this to be, well as over as it will ever be.Pies4shaw wrote:In Victoria, now 20 days in a row of no new community cases, still just 2 active cases and no-one in hospital with COVID. 21,290 test results reported, also. All negative, of course.
cheers, thats great news

I assume that he is referring to the waste water/sewerage tests which are continually reporting traces of the virus. That has occurred in areas where there have been no positive tests for the virus, such as rural areas and towns. It was reported in Warrnambool when I was passing through there in late January.Pies4shaw wrote:You've got a link for that, of course.
It was only 3 days ago that it was widely reported in the media that traces were found in 14 suburbs spread across Melbourne and people were being told to get tested straight away.
Given the time for shedding the virus, stages of infection etc. it would be foolish to think that there are no covid cases in Melbourne. It's there, it's just not being detected.
COVID is commonly reported in sewerage. It is impossible to tell whether it's "live" or historical. The health authorities ask people who have symptoms in areas where it is detected to come forward - it's a particular call for vigilance with a view to identifying cases, if there are any.
Given how infectious COVID is, if there were "dozens of cases roaming the community" - and that is the claim that I asked about - we would all know very quickly.
People are entitled to have their own stupid conspiracy theories - it is, however, inappropriate to make up complete piffle and then state it as if it were an uncontroversial fact.

Yes, I understand that, but the point that I was making is that I believe it's still out there undetected. Not enough is known about what the traces in the waste water mean, but where there are traces in areas which have not had positive tests, or where there haven't been positive tests for a very long time, and the waste water is being regularly tested, then some doubts arise. Whether that corresponds to dozens of cases roaming about is a different question.Pies4shaw wrote:COVID is commonly reported in sewerage. It is impossible to tell whether it's "live" or historical. Your comment that it is inappropriate to make up complete piffle and then state it as if it were an uncontroversial fact is something that you could say about the major media organisations too. If Eddie had said his information was based on confidential sources he would be beyond reproach if working for one of them.
