Meanwhile, back in Qld (from the ABC blog):

Police say no party was held by positive case
Police have come out to say there was actually no party held with 25 people - only five other people were at the house of the case reported yesterday.

Deputy Commissioner Steve Gollschewski said there were people present at the house, but contrary to information issued by Queensland Health yesterday, a number were quite entitled to be there and there was no party.

He also said there was no evidence of any offences committed.

"I'm not going to get into the details of this, we are running inquiries and we will establish a full story and talk about that later, but at this stage, I'm saying to you the matter is subject to further inquiries and we're not seeing any evidence of any offences."

How could the authorities get that so wrong and publish such drivel earlier on?

In Victoria, now 31 days in a row of no new community cases. There was one new international case. The positive case is in Hotel Quarantine and is a member of an international flight crew. Accordingly, there is 1 active case in the State but no-one in hospital with COVID. 13,963 test results were reported.

I mean, to be fair, nobody commenting here knew this guy's identity, so they were more bagging a theoretical person than an actual guy. Though it's worth noting that Christian Porter doesn't seem to think that matters in his own defamation case against the ABC …
