Who knows where his head is at, got some pretty major things hanging over him. Going to be a week to week proposition, mentally I reckon. Of course all the supermen on Nicks would take it all in their stride and perform their normal jobs if it was them... don't @ me just because he's on a lot of coin, he's a human being too.

Fair comment, Cam. However, he is a professional footballer who only has to perform for a couple of hours per week. He is surrounded by support staff, including psychologists, nutritionists, physios, etc. to provide him with the resources to deal with these challenges. He is not an Average Joe that has to deal with his issues on top of everything else. He is a high-performance talent that is paid (handsomely) to perform despite life's challenges. So he doesn't get to play the card you are offering, in my opinion.

One of our very few genuinely elite players, without him we'd be a wooden spoon contender.

The problem is because the coach has refused to recruit a key forward we need him in the midfield and up forward all game, every game. When he goes forward he's a beast but we don't have the midfield to make the most of it. When he goes into the middle, he's got no one to kick to.

If we got Petracca it would solve the problem, but instead we blew our cap on a ruckman who luckily for the stat lovers can get 40-50 hitouts every week, shame they don't equate to Collingwood clearances...

Yes he was quieter last week but watch the game closely had his team mates honoured his repeated leads in that last term he could have easily kicked 2 and maybe 3 goals and we wouldn’t be having this conversation

Petracca is overrated and full of Calabrese Salami, convince me otherwise? If JDG is not an elite mid, and Petracca is not an elite fwd or mid, then how does that make us better?

Not always about stats, a lot will depend on him, us, if it's in our interests 'at the time he becomes available', whos coaching us, if our window is open, lots of things so no one need panic yet.
