By way of comparison, active cases all in hotel quarantine in other states:Pies4shaw wrote:In Victoria, there were no new community cases cases reported and 4 overseas-acquired cases reported. 7,915 test results were received. There are now 14 active cases, all acquired overseas.
NSW 76
WA 25
QLD 20
SA 19
NT 12
I probably shouldn't include NT as they have by far the best model, but it demonstrates the kind of numbers the other states are processing and their systems are, generally, holding up.
Lets see if 3rd time is the charm for Victoria

Interesting that the worker was "fully vaccinated".
So as mentioned previously, clearly you can still catch Covid despite being vaccinated, it just supposedly means you won't get as sick.
That's something I'll bet most people don't understand.
The other element to that is that he's been put into isolation which suggests he may be contagious.
That makes an interesting situation for those workers who have been vaccinated in the first phase. A vaccinated worker could in theory catch this virus at work, as this bloke seems to have done, and despite being personally safe from getting a severe dose or dying, they could still infest un-vaccinated family, friends or other people they come into contact with.

Covid be more like a Cold/Flu with the Vaccination
Seen Countries that have got the Vaccine the Cases Numbers are going down

They may have said that, I don't think many people have processed or understood that bit.
Anyway, Took mum in for her first Covid shot tonight. The AZ vaccine, booked it in at the GP a couple of weeks ago.
The GP clinic was making everyone wear masks and limited people allowed inside so rather than sit in there taking up space, I left mum there, walked 40 metres to the little Foodworks supermarket, bought a stubby and a packet of chips and sat in the car with the heater and radio on.
So far so good, she kicked back with a wine while I cooked dinner. Home made KFC, southern chicken in the air fryer, corn on the cob with butter and some coleslaw. Yum.
I've had a few people on facebook ask me if I've had mine yet, my understanding is I'm not eligible yet as I'm not in 1a or 1b category.

Scummo is pleading with all the over-50s to have shots.
Meanwhile, the doctors running the mass-vaccination clinics are pleading with Scummo to actually deliver some vaccine. They are set up to do thousands of shots a day, and Scummo won't deliver the goods.
And for most of us who are not close to one of those mass-vac pop-ups, you have to go into a germ-ridden medical clinic, which is scarier than not having the shots. And expensive. And wastes the valuable time of doctors who have actual sick people to see.
Why these thickheads can't put the program in the hands of some competent nurses and pharmacists - the same people who handle the complicated detail of delivering dangerous prescription drugs without the sligftest fuss - that brain-dead decision is completely beyond me.
