You assumed that GP's charge. Not all do and not in all circumstances. Mine charges me but bulk bills pensioners like mum.

If GP's were charging people, you would have seen and heard the outrage in the media. The message has consistently been that getting the vaccine is free. You're the one that made an incorrect assumption when 10 seconds in a search engine would have provided the truth..
Do I have to pay for the COVID-19 vaccine?
No, the COVID-19 vaccine is free for everyone in Australia. Vaccination providers cannot charge you for the COVID-19 vaccine or for your appointments to receive the vaccine.

My point here Stui, is that the government has comprehensively failed to get the message out. Where is the messaging in local newspapers, for example? Not one single word here. (Maybe your state government has done better.) Where is the news coverage?

My experience from working in several different industries is that people always complain about communication. You could drag them in and tattoo the message on the inside of their eyelids and some would still claim they hadn't seen it.

Local papers? very poor value for money.

Relying on older people watching FTA News on TV where it was repeatedly made clear via replayed press conferences that the jab was free, much better.

You made an incorrect assumption that you could have easily checked, You didn't and you blame Morrison for that.

Sorry, fault here is with you.

The messaging has been awful because Scotty from Marketing over promised. When he couldn’t deliver the messaging changed. His government has been a mess with respect to the roll out. That’s a given. Not even debatable.

The Aged Care Facility where Mum resides has found it gobsmacking: changing times, dates, no communication, dribs and drabs.

This became murkier when the Scotty from Marketing kicked another own goal and tried to blame the states: that was short lived. Now his gone cap in hand to the states because they can deliver.

Working with the states allows better and consistent communications.

Scotty tried to politicise it early and got burnt: some of it out of his control.

Tannin is right with respect to the messaging because for ages it was a relative mess for segments of the community and due to the different messages from the Feds.

You still have local papers?

As said the government has said hundreds of times, the vaccine is free and that to 99.9% of people means free, not that gps can then charge you to administer it.

If you haven’t heard the message then I again ask, what rock are you living under? I don’t watch the news or read papers yet I’ve heard it plenty of times.

In Victoria there were no new local cases reported and 2 new cases acquired overseas (currently in hotel quarantine). 13,223 test results were received. There are, now, 21 active cases (all acquired overseas).

There are reported local transmissions of coronavirus within Sydney and Perth hotel quarantine and a number of Victorian "close contacts" arising from those breaches are being followed up and tested.

So Victoria will be the only state with a cap on attendances left, what are they waiting for? Until the blockbusters are done or for Dan to come back to take credit for the announcement?

Exported from WA.

This is going to occur. A significant issue is transmission through air movement in hotels; something most states are on top of but for reasons unknown the Scotty’s people think is of little consequence.

Hotels have been fixed (to a point) in Victoria but some buildings across the country are simply not able to be sorted with say negative pressure etc because of structural reasons.

This is going to be with us for another year and the Feds should build the bungalow style Accommodation they use in the NT as the best way to deal with overseas visitors who are bringing the virus with them.

Additionally the Feds should vaccinate those wanting to return to Australia as another approach to deal with it & minimise spread.

WA, QLD, VIC all exporting the virus, can’t any of those states get it right?

Although in fairness to Ana and Mark, they e got a long way to go to catch Dan for most cases caused by their exporting of the virus
