What (if anything) are you doing for Mother’s Day?

Post by watt price tully »

Despite the knowledge that it is an artificial day created by commercial interests we’re having Mother’s Day at home with the youngest preparing and I’ll be arranging for my Mum to come from the Aged Care Facility (before I go to work for a pm shift.

junior is cooking me breakfast, hubby is cooking dinner, (oh shit i just realised its our 28th anniversary tomorrow!!) junior got me a furry collingwood jacket, and the eldest a really cool light show thing, other than that, no idea!!

hope your mum has a good day.

im taking my dad out for the day on the 17th for his birthday, although hes crabby its not the 18th for his actual birthday, (i have an appointment with a surgeon about my mangled left hand!! only my thumb and index finger are working properly now!) he doesnt know it but ive arranged for my older sister to come, he hasnt seen her in about 5 or 6 years, its over 10 years for the other but she has blocked him completely.

yes im a sucker, and no he doesnt really appreciate what im doing, no matter how many times he says he does, im for ever on the phone with the home trying to sort him out! and considering mum chucked a cuppa on someone, launched out of her wheel chair another time, and chucked a lit cigarette into the gas bottle room, thats saying something! not sure what i did in a previous life to deserve it, but surely this gets me brownie points for the next one!

I will ring Mum from Thailand. Have to as it is her first Mothers day since I was born without Dad.

Mothers day in Thailand is Queen Sirikits birthday so it falls on whatever day of the week it is. So Mum gets 2.

What, it's Mothers Day? That came around quickly, so rare to have a big day and not be in lockdown in Victoria it doesn't seem real.

I got a personalised video for Mum from Brody Mihocek. I thought she'd love that more than anything and she did.

I got a selfie with him last month! He’s a really nice guy! He lives near me and goes to a local vegan cafe!! That’s an awesome gift xx

I got a faux fur Collingwood jacket, a galaxy projector, and a 4.5 litre bottle of Jim beam!! An omelette for breaky I binged Dead To Me all day (touch of flu) with the house to myself and then hubby cooked prawns and scallops for dinner and sticky date pudding for dessert, perfect day!!!

Happy mums day to all the mums of all creatures great and small, and the dads that are mums too!

Called while they were having a family lunch. As a part present we sent mum a copy of James Joyce's Dubliners, which she'll love for the earthiness of the stories. She's still a huge reader at 80.

Youngest and her BF made: corn fritters with sour cream and a splash of chilli oil (the fritters were made with ginger and coriander), broccolini, mushrooms, bacon and poached eggs.

The youngest also made a baked cinnamon roll

( rode a quick 70 km’s in the morning to treat myself)

I made the coffee and the others made tea.

Picked Mum up from the Aged Care Facility (1.5 km’s away) she got some eggs from the chicken coop and a great day of it.
