Even more blood clotting cases caused by Scotty's favourite vaccine in the news today. "Favourite" for everybody else, that is. Scotty himself got the safer, more effective Pfizer one, of course. I just cancelled my appointment because there is no Covid in this state, practically none in Australia, and you can't have Covid and Flu vaccines together, so I'm having the flu shot instead - that is safer, and far more likely to save me getting a serious disease.
Right now they haven't got a frigging clue what causes the deadly blood clotting. They admit as much. Scummo decided that AstraZeneca was killing young people so he'd only give it to over-50s. Now it has killed or hospitalised a whole series of over-50s. Another two today, one a 53-year-old man in South Australia who is in intensive care in a "very serious condition".
The Health Minister himself said this morning that over-50s need not worry, there will be plenty of Pfizer and Moderna available later in the year. Scotty can stick it where the sun don't shine. He can send my dose to India, where they would be grateful for it. If he can find India. Perhaps we could send him a map.

Wuss. You gotta die of something.
I've had the AZ clot shot, so has my mum, no side effects so we'll both be going back for the second shot in July.
In other news, normal programming won't be resuming any time soon.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-05-20/ ... /100151306The small archipelago nation of Seychelles, northeast of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean, has emerged as the world's most vaccinated country for COVID-19.
Around 71 per cent of people have had at least one dose of a COVID vaccine, and 62 per cent have been fully vaccinated. Of these, 57 per cent have received the Sinopharm vaccine, and 43 per cent AstraZeneca.
Despite this, there has been a recent surge in cases, with 37 per cent of new active cases and 20 per cent of hospital cases being fully vaccinated. The country has had to reimpose some restrictions.
How can this be happening? There are several possible explanations:

https://www.theage.com.au/world/europe/ ... 57ttr.htmlLondon: Two doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine may be around 85 per cent to 90 per cent effective against symptomatic disease, Public Health England (PHE) says, while cautioning that it did not yet have enough data to be conclusive.
Just do it. Get the shot.

Each to their own.
Keep in mind, the Pfizer vaccine is an mRNA one, they type of which had rarely if ever been used in humans before and have caused severe anaphylactic reactions and death in isolated cases.
No vaccine is 100% safe or 100% effective

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-05-21/ ... /100154574Epidemiologists are urging Australians over the age of 50 not to wait for alternatives to the AstraZeneca vaccine, warning of a "false sense of security" about the risks still posed by COVID-19.

They lie about the numbers. This "1 in 100,000" number is a transparent lie - 2M shots, 24 blood clot attacks already (do the maths yourself) and that is only the ones that have already got sick, not the ones still in the waiting period.
I am perfectly happy to wait for a better vaccine (not one that kills people) or a better understanding of the killing mechanism - right now they haven't got a frigging clue about it. They said "Oh, it's safe if you are over 50". Another lie. Plenty of over-50s very, very sick with blood clots from AZ right now.
Anti-vaxer? Up your arse with that Stui. Happy to have vaccines that don't kill the people they are supposed to protect. In fact, I had my Flu shot this very afternoon. Flu is a much bigger risk that Covid in this country. Scotty's failed AZ vaccine is a bigger risk than Covid, certainly in this state where we have good border controls.

I knew you'd bite at the Anti Vaxer crack.
Look, the AZ vaccine was always the smart choice as we had the ability to make it here, avoiding supply chain and logistical issues. And it wasn't a choice Morrison made, he wouldn't know a vaccine from a catheter.
All the data from the UK where they've done millions of AZ shots support that you're more likely to die in a car crash than from the AZ vaccine. The tiny minority that get clots, they're getting better at fixing it so the odds of dying is reducing from infinitesimal to 2% of far call.
Your choice. As I said, I've had it, I'm fine, and I'm going back for seconds in July.
And well done Dave, showing some balls there.
