4 community cases, all one family over 2 houses in Whittlesea. . They can't confirm yet if they're related to the Woolert bloke but we'd want to hope they are.

No new lockdowns..........................yet. Here's the chance to see how good the contact tracing is now.

We're back to a limit of five-person household gatherings and masks are required indoors again.

"Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange
Here's a summary of the restrictions from the ABC blog:
From 6:00pm tonight, the following rules apply across metropolitan Melbourne
Professor Sutton said they would be in place until at least June 4 (next Friday).
Masks must be worn indoors unless there is an exemption. This applies to everyone 12 years and older and includes workplaces
Private gatherings in the home are limited to five visitors per day
Public gatherings are limited to 30 people
A public health panel will weigh up whether more changes are needed for large public events including football games and cultural events, but they remain unchanged for now
There will be no changes to the existing density quote for weddings and funerals held at venues, but if they are being held at a private residence, they will be subject to the new restrictions
The rules also "follow" people leaving metropolitan Melbourne to wherever they're visiting.
For example, if you're from Melbourne and you're visiting a friend in Bendigo, you must wear your mask indoors.

The Indian variant apparently. They're concerned that this variant may last longer than the 2 weeks of being holed up in Hotel quarantine would normally sort.

The number of places these people have been while infectious we're either in store for a sudden burst in numbers or it's just not that infectious.
I was watching closely yesterday as my work had planned restructure announcements coordinated around the state this morning. If these restrictions had of come in place 6pm yesterday there would have needed to have been some very fancy footwork.
Always a fun morning telling people that their roles are redundant or numbers of roles are being reduced. NOT.

It's interesting looking back.
This time 12 months ago we were getting daily cases in high single figures to teens as the first wave ran itself down with little in the way of restrictions other than public gatherings and people working from home.
Shops were still open, masks weren't compulsory and everyone was thinking this will soon be over. Then 1 month later the 2nd wave started and life as we know it came to a screeching stop.
