And here's a link to the ABC's coronavirus blog, which is already up and running =- nothing significant, yet - but I have a bucketload of work on today, so I may not get to update developments in a timely fashion in this thread: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-05-27/ ... /100167392Victorians are likely to be sent back into lockdown on Thursday after senior cabinet ministers met late into the evening to decide how to contain Melbourne’s growing COVID-19 outbreak.
....
The core ministry group - which includes Acting Premier James Merlino, Treasurer Tim Pallas, Transport Infrastructure Minister Jacinta Allan - will meet again on Thursday morning to finalise the plans.
As of Thursday [sic] night, the group was resolved to implement a lockdown of no less than three days. This was expected to remain the plan unless unexpected events resulted in a change to health advice.

we be fckd.
12 new cases overnight, 1 of those reported yesterday so it's actually 11 new. Cluster is now 26 cases and new exposure sites in the Sth East and mornington Peninsula which means it's hardly localised.
Has any research been done as to whether developing a sudden urge to travel and shop is a side effect of Covid? Some of these infectious bastards get to more places in a couple of days than I do in a month.

Herald Sun reporting a stage 3 lockdown for 7 days from Midnight. Press conference to be held later this morning.
https://www.heraldsun.com.au/coronaviru ... 7e7852af8bVictoria will be plunged back into stage three lockdown restrictions, with schools shut and only four reasons to leave home under an announcement to be made later on Thursday.
It is understood that no travel restrictions will be imposed and construction will remain open.
Hospitality will be closed, except for takeaway.

Stay within 5 kmos of home (generally). Masks everywhere. No visitors, other than an intimate partner.
Restauranats, pubs and cafes can do takeaway. Some retail remains open. Childcare is open. Approved professional sporting events will proceed but without crowds. Schools to remote learning (mostly). Higher education remote only.

I suggest you go today!!
So I’ll do the right thing and stay here, out and about today drive past a testing station, no queue only 4 cars I. The car park so I drove in, we have all been sniffling and since it’s lockdown seemed like a good time, no fevers or anything else but you wonder. The lady was lovely but **** the phone call for a code I could not understand a word the Indian guy said! I had to put the nurse on! Do t know why people are whinging about the test it’s nothing!
As for the needle I’m canceling the appointment I’m just not prepared to go through the stress for 21 days, if I can get the other one I’d do it now, but we should have choice, it feels like they are pressuring us just to use up the supplies because they bought too many! Can’t go anywhere anyway so I’ll wait til October! Have at it I don’t care we should have choice.
