I don't have a problem, the explanation is reasonable and she's managed the second best performed state after NSW during Covid when you consider the amount of overseas people coming into HQ and the amount of community transmission.
Now just leaves Dan as the only state premier to not have had a Covid vaccination. She held out as long as she could, even delayed her flu shot to give her another excuse. But in the end a trip overseas forced her hand.
I suppose it's proof that the carrot of being able to travel might just get a few young people to get vaccinated when it's their chance.
It is Queensland so it's warmer than here, she wore a frock that gave easy access to her shoulder for the injection but was still dressy when paired with the jacket, she was going in for the vaccination when she was eligible, I don't see how it could be considered a terrible look?
is it because she went for the Pfizer vacc rather than the AZ Clot Shot that you and I got?
Jumping Que and she is over 50 so she should be getting the AZ Vaccine and Not Pfizer.
She took so she can go overseas but no can go over seas
Olympians are going overseas. Brisbane might be awarded the Olympics in July, so she might be required to attend. Maybe she got told this week - pack your bags - but say nothing....so Brisbane might be awarded the 2032 Games.
Who the hell thinks Brisbane have a chance of hosting the Olympics!? Have they run out of cities or something?

Dave, stop looking for a conspiracy that doesn't exist. She's the Premier of the State that is likely to host the Olympics. Of course she should be there.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says Brisbane may find out as soon as July whether it has won the right to host the 2032 Summer Olympics.
Key points:
The IOC may give Brisbane the nod to host the 2032 Games in three months' time when the Tokyo Olympics are held
The Queensland government is relieved to have agreed to a joint infrastructure funding deal with the Commonwealth
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the funding agreement will allow the Gabba redevelopment to go ahead
The International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Future Host Summer Commission designated Brisbane as the "preferred candidate city" to host the 2032 Games in February.
In Victoria, 2 new local cases and 1 O/S (currently in HQ). 92 actives cases. 22,814 test results reported. The two local cases are said to be "linked to the current outbreaks".
I want to be clear about a couple of things. Our contact tracing team has done exactly what we needed them to do. They have found the cases, they have tracked them down and they have isolated them.
Thanks to their outstanding work we remain on track to later in this week announce, as we have said we have planned to do all along, further easings of restriction in regional Victoria and careful easing of restrictions in Melbourne.
This cluster was discovered after the lockdown was in place and nothing about today changes our plan. So I just want to send that very reassuring message to all Victorians. Nothing about today changes our plans.
Thanks to the outstanding work of our contact tracing team, we remain on track to deliver a further easing of restrictions in regional Victoria and easing of restrictions in Melbourne.
Will the metro-regional travel restrictions remain this long weekend?
Yes, says James Merlino.
"It remains the public health advice that for a period of time, we will have different settings between regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne. That will extend beyond any announcements that we will make later in the week.
There are very good reasons for that. We absolutely want to run this into ground and ensure that there's no risk of this spreading out into regional Victoria.
We wanted to be up-front and honest with people at the earliest opportunity, particularly because we're coming up to the long weekend, so we are on track for an easing of restrictions, as planned this week but there will be different settings for a period of time between regional Victoria and Melbourne."
looks like this Delta variety of the virus that some peanut took on a trip to NSW and back came out of Hotel Quarantine in Melbourne.. They really need to do more frequent testing IMHO. People are only supposed to be in hotel quarantine while they don't have the virus. If they return a positive test, my understanding is that they've moved straight away to a medi hotel facility run by The Alfred, which has a 100% success rate in containing the virus. if they did those quick non-invasive tests every day you wouldn't have people infectious in HQ between tests.
Another interesting read.
London: The World Health Organisation says Australia and other countries face a “genuine dilemma” about how to move away from their zero-COVID approach and are now more at risk than other countries as a result of their elimination strategies.
Dr Mike Ryan, WHO’s head of public emergencies, told a virtual news conference hosted in Geneva that vaccinations were the only way out of the pandemic for countries that had adopted the elimination strategy, but said vaccination take-up rates would need to be drastically higher.
Person identified as a close contact of a positive case, gets tested and told to isolate.
Instead this moron decides to go to go to the vaccination hub at MECC to get a COVID jab. Fortunately staff on the front line go them out of there but it is now listed as Tier 3 exposure site & staff have to isolate.

Note further their complete failure to pay attention to clear and obvious evidence that the virus was spreading via aerosol in hotel quarantine situations? This was proven beyond all doubt in Melbourne months ago, and to their credit the Victorian government bit the bullet and spent what they had to spend to get the ventilation issue sorted. Meanwhile, the other states simply ignored the evidence and hoped for the best. This has come back to bite Western Australia on the arse, and now, very sadly, Victoria is paying the price for the South Australian Government's failure to act.
From the ABC blog this morning (and updated 3 minutes ago):
Restrictions in Melbourne are set to be eased on Thursday night with a 25 kilometre travel bubble to be introduced for Melburnians.
Barring any more mystery cases overnight, students are likely to return to the classroom and metro Melbourne will move to similar restrictions to those current in country Victoria, which includes a ban on home visitors.
There will be density caps on hospitality and entertainment venues under a plan discussed late last night.
Senior government ministers are set to meet this morning to make a final decision.
