Coronavirus 3 - Al Pacino's turn to mumble

In NSW, 19 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night and 1 new overseas case in HQ.

Seventeen of these cases are linked to previously confirmed cases and the source of infection for two cases is under investigation.

The government’s changed the recommendation for AstraZeneca about four times now.First it was recommended for everyone,then it was recommended that everyone under 50 not take it,then they extended that ban for anyone under 60,now it’s allowed for everyone again,providing GP’s are given indemnity.No wonder people are confused about the vaccine roll out and don’t know what to do.

It's funny how when circumstances change, recommendations can as well.

The states have lobbied Morrison to allow the back supply of AZ to be used. Plenty of people are happy to use it so putting the indemnity in place for the GP's just safe guards them.

Barnaby Joyce has copped a $200 fine after being dobbed in by a member of the public for failing to wear a mask.

Police say the newly-returned Deputy Prime Minister flouted NSW’s mask mandate as he up filled his car at a petrol station in Armidale on Monday.

The Deputy Prime Minister was inside for less than a minute, but an eagle-eyed member of the public noticed the violation and called Crime Stoppers.

NSW Police checked CCTV footage of the incident before issuing Mr Joyce with a $200 fine.

Fairly petty behaviour I'd think, calling Crimestoppers to dob someone in for not wearing a mask.

Still, that's the second time now that Bananaby has got in strife for not wearing protection.

I don't think any prominent politician would get away with doing this, but it does seem like a lot of these rules have been weaponised. You read about someone being dobbed in by a "member of the public" for breaking COVID rules and just know that it has to be some aggrieved ex-spouse, or former friend who has a vendetta, or something. Of course some will say they only have themselves to blame for flouting the law, but I'm not sure how I feel about a society in which dobbing is a successful means to settle personal scores or (in this case) take public figures down a peg.

Nope, would laugh if the bloke with a hard-on for masks forgot his but don’t care who it is, the offence as a whole is usually reserved for people who refuse not for people who forget.
