I didn't really notice the weather as I was fairly well shielded by the grandstand. However, it did try to rain mid way through the first quarter, which made it a bit chilly, but it didn't last long.

The wind did get colder as the day wore on but I went prepared and was well rugged up. Gotta be close to the action to get decent pics, so no sitting in the grandstand for me.

Then again, with you being in Tassie, you would have thought it was a summer's day at Frankston!

Shackelton shouldn't of been worried about it, up around Burnie (where he's from) gets like it did at Frankston, but worse.
