So Gladys shut the stable door after the Coronavirus horse had bolted two weeks too late.
The delta virus has now spread not just from East to West in Sidanee and now spread to Victoria and elsewhere. This could have been prevented had she locked down hard & not made a political decision as she did: ego before people’s health.

This might be of interest:stui magpie wrote:Any clear information on how long after exposure to the Delta strain can you become infectious? The standard strain was around 3 days IIRC
The bloke who caught it from the removalists at the apartment building was exposed around midday on 8 July.
He was then around Highpoint late morning to mid afternoon on the 9th. 23-27 hours after exposure.
Then went to the Footy Saturday (10th) night, sitting outside in level 2 of the MCC Members. That's around 54 hours post exposure.

Elsewhere, I've seen it reported that the Delta variant has been identified as moving through 5 generations of transmission in 10 days.

Of course you missed the bigger point. Scotty was absent. The head of Pfizer took calls from international leaders. Netanyahu called him 30 times, other countries leaders called to increase their orders.stui magpie wrote:.......
Meanwhile, KRudd and his supporters believed that he had some influence with Pfizer over our vaccine rollout.

How many times did Scotty call? 30? 20? 10? 5? 1? Zero times.
Scotty goes missing when the heat is on and is abrogates his responsibilities.

Thanks for that, interesting the article suggests an average of 4 days between infection and becoming transmissible. if that's accurate then Highpoint and the MCG should be safe.Pies4shaw wrote:This might be of interest:stui magpie wrote:Any clear information on how long after exposure to the Delta strain can you become infectious? These guys are removalists from Sydney, more likely than not they're pacific islanders. I did some work as a removalist around 15 years ago between jobs, there's not a lot of Mensa candidates doing that work.David wrote:Jokes aside, I don't like the (particularly Victorian) government's focus on individual indiscretions. Yes, it sounds like these guys have been pretty irresponsible and perhaps there are some, er … dodgy aspects to their trip that they don't want authorities to know about. .
I'd suggest there wasn't much in the way of deliberately flouting the rules, maybe a few things they didn't want authorities to know about but generally some blokes employed for size and physical strength, not intelligence.

I'm only going from what was in the article but yeah, you'd hope you'd be doing OK.Dave The Man wrote:

People would have been wearing masks in Highpoint (you'd hope) and there hasn't been any recorded cases I'm aware of at someone catching it at an outdoor sporting event, so touch wood.
The other cases are effectively in lockdown. The apartment building the removalists went to is locked down already.

Dave, Gladys started the lockdown 10 days after the first case. Locking down 2 weeks earlier would be 4 days before the first case even happened.Dave The Man wrote:Agree. All Gladys Fault. The Prime Minister of Australia and co dealt directly with the head of Pfizer Australia, as they should. The rest is just obsession based ranting.watt price tully wrote:Of course you missed the bigger point. Scotty was absent. The head of Pfizer took calls from international leaders.
