They should been Thrown in Jail.KenH wrote:I think that I heard that 5 families were not home (should have been isolating) today when they were checked on, this is a bloody disgrace. I don't normally agree on suing people but shit I would go for a class action if we get locked up again!

If it was knowingly and deliberately, I agree.KenH wrote:I think that I heard that 5 families were not home (should have been isolating) today when they were checked on, this is a bloody disgrace. When I came back to Melbourne on New Years Day after the border to NSW was snap closed, I was told by cops that I had to get tested and isolate, which I did until I tested negative. Neither I nor my GP knew if I was free to go after testing negative or not, the DHHS website was no help and the phone number was broken with too many calls.
Not everyone knows what they have to do.

I was told that they returned from the Red Zone in NSW, if that is right they should know!stui magpie wrote:If it was knowingly and deliberately, I agree.KenH wrote:I think that I heard that 5 families were not home (should have been isolating) today when they were checked on, this is a bloody disgrace. Red zone means you go straight home and quarantine for 14 days from date of arrival in Victoria.
Information is on the Vic Coronavirus website.
People need to start taking responsibility for their own actions.

Do people have their head in the sand? It has been communicated all the time that Red Zone means 14 days isolation regardless of test! That is why everyone was warned about the Holidays, come home or you will have to isolate for 14 days, it was said multiple times a day!stui magpie wrote:People don't know by telepathy, they need to be told.
So is NSW Red Zone arrivals test and isolate til negative or test and quarantine for 14 days regardless of result?

People have their heads wherever.
Don't assume younger people watch FTA TV, listen to radio or read newspapers. Mant get their news from social media.
Look, I'm not making excuses for people if they stuffed up, just pointing out that everyone isn't the same.
I'd reserve the vitriol for people who knew they were supposed to be isolating but went out anyway.

Dan also had a massive rant about people not isolating last year and when VicPol followed up 99% weren’t charged be it was DHHS that stuffed up and not the people doing the wrong thing. So it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve gone hard blaming others to deflect attention from themselves. Even the removalists, SA say they’ve been helpful, Victoria say they haven’t.KenH wrote:I think that I heard that 5 families were not home (should have been isolating) today when they were checked on, this is a bloody disgrace. Even if they locked down one week earlier with just a handful of cases, well if that’s the good standard Victoria should already be in lockdown given we’ve got more cases now than NSW did one week before lockdown started.stui magpie wrote:Dave, Gladys started the lockdown 10 days after the first case. Locking down 2 weeks earlier would be 4 days before the first case even happened.Dave The Man wrote:Agree. All Gladys Fault. Lockdown Earlier and probably be all gone by nowwatt price tully wrote:So Gladys shut the stable door after the Coronavirus horse had bolted two weeks too late.
The delta virus has now spread not just from East to West in Sidanee and now spread to Victoria and elsewhere. This could have been prevented had she locked down hard & not made a political decision as she did: ego before people’s health.
I look forward to WPTs condemnation of Dan for not acting quick enough

A lot fo focus on the removalists but I’d suggest it’s the family who went to Coles that is more at fault here. It’s interesting that the parents of the person who lives in the apartment block also shop at Cragieburn Coles, so a good point was raised in the ABC site today, have authorities got the whole thing wrong? Did the parents pick it up at the shops and pass it on to the son, not the son getting it from the removalists? The family who actually spent 5+ hours with these guys in 2 different states haven’t even tested positive.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-07-14/ ... /100291284A Barwon Heads primary school in the state's south-west is the latest to close in Victoria after registering a positive COVID-19 case.
It is unclear whether this is a new case or one of the three additional cases recorded earlier Wednesday evening when The Victorian Department of Health also issued a new mask mandate.
One of the earlier three cases is a teacher at Bacchus Marsh Grammar school, west of Melbourne, who lives in Barwon Heads and has a friend in the Ariele apartment complex in Maribyrnong.
The other two cases are family members of the teacher.
As of now, there have been a total of 11 new confirmed cases on Wednesday. The school teacher and his family were added to the seven reported during the day and one other case reported earlier in the morning.
