For those complaining about border closure, Andrews already had the NSW border closed, these guys were allowed in. It's not NSW fault they came down, NSW had a 5km limit in place except for essential workers.
Truck drivers were considered essential workers in Victoria all through 2020 lockdowns, I have relatives who never missed a day of work due to lockdown.
Here's where the truck drivers went and what they did.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-07-14/ ... /100289204
Interestingly they did the same stuff in SA as here (working without masks etc) but no one in SA has so far been infected. Also interesting that Victoria reported difficulties in getting information, SA had no problems and said they were cooperative even if 2 of the 3 were language challenged.
As far as the feeling that Gladys should have locked down earlier, hindsight and emotion would support that, data available at the time not so much.
The cases numbers in fairfield didn't start to spike until 10 days after the lockdown started and restrictions were increased almost immediately. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-07-15/ ... /100293882
People accusing Gladys of playing politics instead of following heath advice really need support with their delusions. All the Premiers play politics, all of them take health advice onboard, none of them despite the rhetoric follow it to the letter. That's why each state acts differently.
QLD for example has only used LGA restrictions and no statewide lockdowns, largely following the NSW model more than the Victorian, WA just locks down every time a community case happens.

Can't argue with that. Just get kit over with and then stop all international arrivals - except for returning citizens to live permanently. If people leave the country - they don't come back. No-one allowed for funerals or compassion reasons.Dave The Man wrote:100% Agree with that.David wrote:Not the worst news. Sooner we start, sooner it's over and done with.
Sooner we do Lockdown sooner it be over for awhile

Might be better IF we had 1 Medical Person who is Charge of all States for Covid Then?stui magpie wrote: of following heath advice really need support with their delusions. Delta has not got to other States Yet and seems like the ones that come in to Victoria are Idiots and go out and about

Possibly but it doesn't work that way under the constitution.
Idiots are everywhere in every state. What the removalists did in Victoria was legal in NSW and SA but not here.Delta has not got to other States Yet and seems like the ones that come in to Victoria are Idiots and go out and about

Actually Delta has gotten into every single mainland state and the NT, mostly from QLD. But Victoria is now 2nd for most days in lockdown for delta outbreaks, so why does one state keep getting it so, so wrong?Dave The Man wrote:Might be better IF we had 1 Medical Person who is Charge of all States for Covid Then?stui magpie wrote: of following heath advice really need support with their delusions. Annoying opposition supporters since 1967.
