Is it? I thought you couldn’t trade a future with 1st two years in a row.neil wrote:The last thing we want to do is trade any future picks, play the kids and see what they and this years picks are like. Next year draft or trade for need.
Of course if King want to come next years first is available

Any picks higher than our current ones will just get burned on Daicos. There's no point. We backed ourselves into a corner with this draft hand. The only way out would be to somehow manipulate a package that got us the actual No.1 pick, Then would could pick someone else and use the rest on Daics.WhyPhilWhy? wrote:If we get Pick 4, it just gets burned on Daicos. Another way of looking at it, more accurately in my view, is that we're going to get one of the best three players in the draft this year, having also benefitted from trading away our top pick in exchange for 2 of the best handful of players in last year's draft. So we're getting the value of this year's high draft pick, having traded away that pick for other medium-high value players who've already had a year of development now. win-win.stui magpie wrote:Any picks higher than our current ones will just get burned on Daicos. Also we are definitely going to be players in this trading period. I suspect some more short-term pain is coming, but with it some regeneration in the medium term. The way we'll get around the Daicos issue is by trading for young, untested players with a few years in the system, using draft picks we get from trading out existing players or by doing direct swaps.

Is there anybody left in our team apart from Ben King after we do that trade?Presti35 wrote:Ok, let me see what I can do...inxs88 wrote:C'mon guys! Put up some hypothetical trades.
Pick 1 (North)
How to get it? Grundy straight swap. Will North bite? Probably not. Maybe if we add a sweetener?
or
Ben King and Pick 3(GCS)
What?? How to get that done? Firstly King will need some convincing that this is his club. That is half the battle. Then we offer Grundy, Maynard, Sidebottom, Cox, Murphy and a future 1st and 2nd. That pick 3 then becomes a tool to upgrade to pick 1 or Adam Cerra. Will the Suns accept? I dont think they would, but would they get a better offer?
There you go '88... Has this put the hype in hypothetical... or just the pathetic bit?

Agree 100% with this - Imagine bringing in Poulter and MacMahon and part of McCreery in this years trade period for nothing. Then drafting the best kid in the country. Then add Begg and Ash.sherrife wrote:Another way of looking at it, more accurately in my view, is that we're going to get one of the best three players in the draft this year, having also benefitted from trading away our top pick in exchange for 2 of the best handful of players in last year's draft. You did state "Obviously we need a big bodied mid to give Tae a chop out in and under", thus I listed Wallis and Caddy. We better pray we get at least one of them; Beggars indeed cant be choosers.....5:11pm wrote:Neither Wallis or Caddy are KPF’s.
Wallis would be great in the guts but the heavens would have to open in order to get him.
Caddy is an unreliable also ran…at best.
Jenkins is solid but can’t do another 3 years.
Lynch was a star link up player but once again, is not a KPF and would only be played at the expense of Henry, and mccreary’s development.
I agree on Ricardi’s potential but he’s still young, unproven and most likely would cost more than we have to give.
We’ve been plugging holes up forward for years… if Wright can manufacture an opportunity to land a legitimate FF at a bargain basement price, I say we take it.
Beggars cant be choosers.
Jenkins has effectively had two years off, as such little VFL has been played.
His battered body should be rejuvenated, and screaming for another shot.

Well I hope they like 2022 future picks, because they'll be lucky if we can even offer those up.Big T wrote:Reality is the top clubs know we r years away from competing and hence they r now more likely to do good trades with us for their lesser likes compared to previous years where we were in contention.
Reckon we will land a kpf for a good price.
