You said "possibly" Sidey or "a bigger, younger name" and "a quality higher caliber player in the upper echelon". Sorry I misinterpreted that as something other than baseless speculation. Two other posters also replied to you seeking further details

Seems someone got ruffled alright :) Feel free to PM me your posts in advance for approval though :wink:

He was "omitted" for the bummers match and listed as "managed" for last night so could be worth looking into, if we can afford him

We have attempted to get him in the past and he wasn’t interested. Not too sure he’ll be interested now. Maybe, maybe not.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

I'm glad you enjoy my comments, which shouldn't be taken too seriously usually - but I thought Hiss was our resident grouch? :)

Players might see us in a different light when we pull this club back to the real power club and comp leader it should be

What’s that line from a movie

Build it and they will come

Ok, here’s another name I just came across as an unrestricted free agent. Trent Dumont at age 26 and 187cm
He’s probably closest to a Levi Greenwood type. Very hard at it and a no frills footballer. He’s been around a while, plays in Kangas best 22 when fit and was once part of their leadership group.
Considering there’s no trade involved, I would hope the club would at least ask the question. We do need some tough nuts over the ball, so I would anticipate him playing in the ones most weeks.

* Dylan Stephens
* Patrick Lipinski
* Tyson Stengle
* Nathan Krueger
* maybe a Patrick Naish
In reality, we would be lucky to get one of those players at trade time, without bleeding from the arse again.

And the AwFuL website lists Tyson Stengle as retired?
Try this for size:

* Dylan Stephens: future second rounder (pick 20-25 in 2022 likely)
* Patrick Lipinski: swap for Max Lynch or push through to Pre-season pick 2
* Stengle: can get for free
* Naish: can get for free
* Nathan Krueger: 4th round pick at worst for us

Not exactly bleeding currency here. Also the above players fall into two categories:

High Talent and Upside:

Stephens and Lipinski could be All-Australian calibre players purely based on their pedigree and in Lipinski's case, visible form.

Last chance saloon:

Stengle and Naish could be simply offered 1 year deals to prove themselves and Kruger 2 years to prize him out of the Cats. Not exactly going to curtail the 975 youngsters on our list.

Madgen for a BBQ chicken and MB longneck at best. Consistently worst player to wear the black and white in last 30years.
He's up there but reckon Andrew Tarpey has him will and truely covered for that honour.
Andrew Tarpey!! Yikes, the inheriter of BT's number 9.

Word on the street is that he is about to sign on for 2 years. We should (just because it's Carlton) push him through to the Pre-season draft, tell him not to do a medical at the Roos and snare him :D

I'd love to get Silvagni and Dow. Wondering how the Cerra trade may affect their contracts.

You dont think Cripps will be traded to Freo?

They've also been linked to Lipinski, but I cant see how after they re-sign Jack, Dow and trade in Cerra on big money too.

Cripps just signed for 6 years, Dow can't kick and the Scum are into George Hewitt too.

No…..

But we’re the idiots still paying him to not touch it.

I think they'll be back to renegotiate the deal - they'll be wanting us to pay his entire salary and then give them enough additional salary-relief that they can recruit an actual footballer to play in his spot.

I should add that it's much less frustrating paying for him not to touch the ball in a different team's jumper than watching him do that in our colours.
