Any news on that front?

Parker out. Move to next best likely
Crouch and Parker gone in the last few days... (doubtful we were in the market for them anyway)

.....Who is next best?

The “ problem “ with any decent free agents is that they generally demand a premium contract because there would be multiple suitors. There is obviously no trade required, so this brings even more clubs into the mix.
I would easily pursue Marbir Chol ( RFA ) before anyone because we automatically would be looking for a replacement / upgrade if either Cox or Lynch were moved on. We probably won’t be able to afford the contract though.
Failing that, Mitch Wallis would be next in line for me. Proven goal kicker, can work up the ground and is currently in the Dogs leadership group. We need smarter players in our forward line and he would be a major help playing alongside the likes of Ginnivan, Henry or McCreery etc

Our defence is ok, so I don’t quite understand the Kelly love, albeit it potentially frees up the likes of Maynard, Crisp further up the ground.
I’m also not convinced Ruscoe wouldn’t be the equal of Kelly in another year or two anyway.

If we want Lipinski it's a future 4th rounder or straight to the pre season draft.

Before we all get carried away - Lipinski may very well be receiving his recall to the 22 as we speak, to take on Port. Then all bets are off.

They may recall Wallis too; and wouldn't that just derail my little red wagon...

Sounds like a decent ultimatum to me.
Too bad the Welfare have all the cards in relation to recalling him this week, thus giving him the opportunity to show his true worth against Port.

But hey, do us all a favour and don't select him - or Wallis; fine by me.

Even if they recalled Teddy Whitten and Doughie Hawkins, I couldn't see them beating Port this week. 8)

I wouldn’t bet too much on this RB. The Bullees thrive on being the underdog and the us vs them strategy. They won’t lose without a hell of a fight. Actually I can see them winning this.

Playing devil’s advocate, isn’t Lipinski worth more than a fourth rounder?
Otherwise I’d much rather Collingwood go after very good to excellent players rather than get the “Jack Dyer” player who is a good, ordinary one. We obviously need to recruit better players than we currently have to improve the list. Is Lipinski better than most of our players?
