Far to say they only make Geelongs new list of champion head banners only.inxs88 wrote:Cats need to be called the soft "head-banners" now. Bunch of private school softies with designer grunge hair and Vitas Gerulaitis head bands:

Yeah I was ok with him coming to free up Maynard into the midfield and a a FA we didn’t need to trade for him. That said I’m more than happy with Ruscoe and even Wilson the more I see of him making that happen.Hitchhiker wrote:You and me both, I suspect if his name wasn't Kelly, no one would be interested.Pies2016 wrote: I need someone to explain what weve “ missed out “ on, other than 189cm back pocket. I don’t see why his brother or Ruscoe couldn’t pass him by within 12 months.
I was very impressed with the improvement of Ruscoe this year, I'd thought him unlikely to make the grade, but he's making me change my mind

I reckon this thread should only be about how we will move players on for picks because we don’t have any coin and not much currency in potential trades to do anything exciting reality.
I think we’re in for more of the same from last years trade period and only from next year will we see us back to equal pegging when it comes to trading

The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

Wright wouldn't come out saying we need key position, mids and small forwards for no reason.Haff wrote:I reckon this thread should only be about how we will move players on for picks because we don’t have any coin and not much currency in potential trades to do anything exciting reality.

They will get the deal done.

Sure, but my gut is they will come from the draft or discard that cost nothing. We can’t trade for anything as we simply can’t give up any draft points.themonk wrote:Wright wouldn't come out saying we need key position, mids and small forwards for no reason.Haff wrote:I reckon this thread should only be about how we will move players on for picks because we don’t have any coin and not much currency in potential trades to do anything exciting reality.

The right way to go about rebuilding is to set your foundations through the draft. Then at some point when you see the window open up, you switch focus to opposition players who would complete and round off the rebuild. I’m not fussed if we don’t pick up a “ big name “ for a couple years because we wouldn’t even be thereabouts until 2025 at the earliest. We’ve got so many unfulfilled prospects, we need to understand better what we currently have before we invest in the last pice of the puzzle. You’re obliged to keep looking to improve on a yearly basis but the big investment needs to be strategically planned at least 12 months in advance because you don’t get many chances to add the cherry on the top.Haff wrote:Sure, but my gut is they will come from the draft or discard that cost nothing.
