1. Mayne and Greenwood don’t just “retire” and walk away without payment. We’d be delisting them and have to pay them out anyway. Would you leave a job u r contracted for a year early and take nothing ?MatthewBoydFanClub wrote:Should have traded him last year. Retired Mayne and Greenwood at the same time and the 500k plus saved would have been enough to keep Stephenson on the list. Not my job, I assume not yours, not Cox’s job to worry about TPP. His management negotiated a contract. Club honored it. Cox’s performances across 2018 when he negotiated his deal enabled us to compete for a premiership. You can’t have it both ways.inxs88 wrote:Of course we should ALL obsess about payments/contracts to players that ultimately impinge on our salary cap thus ability to compete for a Premiership.
I guess we didn’t have to sign extensions. I think they both got an additional year. By the time you replace them on the list though I doubt the savings are anywhere near as much as suggested.MJ23 wrote:1. Mayne and Greenwood don’t just “retire” and walk away without payment. 2. Cap wasn’t why Stephen’s left. If we wanted him we’d have kept him. The money saved helped but it wasn’t the reason.
Exactly. Even a couple of draftees are going to cost $200-300k.RudeBoy wrote:For all the savings we make wen we de-list players, we also have to fund increases in salaries for existing players who have developed/improved on our list, as well as pay for new players.
was negotiated in 2017 "one upper"jackcass wrote:Not my job, I assume not yours, not Cox’s job to worry about TPP. His management negotiated a contract. Club honored it. My bad. Was to, 3 + 1. Even stronger “push for a premiership” synergies then.inxs88 wrote:was negotiated in 2017 "one upper"jackcass wrote:Not my job, I assume not yours, not Cox’s job to worry about TPP. Has a look at that. They say his pace and foot skills are elite, but his injuries have taken it out of him. Originally from Geelong and still only 22. Was pick 14 in 2017 and played 4 games during his 4 years at the Swans.warburton lad wrote:Matthew Ling 184cms and 80kg delisted by Sydney
Will cost nothing, is lightning-quick and an accurate kick.
Could be our running half back option if Noble is traded...
Brander is also an intriguing one.MJ23 wrote:Brander not being offered a contract. West coast essentially will deal him to any club interested or he goes into draft.
I think Lipinski is the clubs #1 target. We'll see what happens after the GF. After that I think maybe Kreuger and Weideman will be targetted from that list.inxs88 wrote:1. Patrick Lipinski: 190cm. 85kg and midfielder from Bulldogs & 23 years old,
