Should have traded Sier when he had currency, won’t get much now.

Should have traded him last year. Retired Mayne and Greenwood at the same time and the 500k plus saved would have been enough to keep Stephenson on the list. No brainer.

1. Mayne and Greenwood don’t just “retire” and walk away without payment. We’d be delisting them and have to pay them out anyway. Would you leave a job u r contracted for a year early and take nothing ?
2. Cap wasn’t why Stephen’s left. If we wanted him we’d have kept him. The money saved helped but it wasn’t the reason.

[quote="Rd10.1998_11.1#36"]So you agree he’s overpaid but you don’t have an issue with it or with a contract that triggers extensions which aren’t linked to actual performance

Not my job, I assume not yours, not Cox’s job to worry about TPP. His management negotiated a contract. Club honored it. Cox’s performances across 2018 when he negotiated his deal enabled us to compete for a premiership. You can’t have it both ways.

I guess we didn’t have to sign extensions. I think they both got an additional year. By the time you replace them on the list though I doubt the savings are anywhere near as much as suggested.

For all the savings we make wen we de-list players, we also have to fund increases in salaries for existing players who have developed/improved on our list, as well as pay for new players.

Exactly. Even a couple of draftees are going to cost $200-300k.

My bad. Was to, 3 + 1. Even stronger “push for a premiership” synergies then.

Will cost nothing, is lightning-quick and an accurate kick.
Could be our running half back option if Noble is traded...
Has a look at that. They say his pace and foot skills are elite, but his injuries have taken it out of him. Originally from Geelong and still only 22. Was pick 14 in 2017 and played 4 games during his 4 years at the Swans.

The 184cm left-footer suffered from serious toe and achilles injuries, keeping him sidelined for most of his first two years in Sydney.

Apparently he has a great attitude. I wonder if the Cats will take a look?
MJ23 wrote:Brander not being offered a contract. West coast essentially will deal him to any club interested or he goes into draft.
Brander is also an intriguing one.

195cm Key Forward, 22 games with WCE. Touted as a successor to Josh Kennedy. What went wrong?

They have Oscar Allen, but Darling and Kennedy are getting up there now.

Originally from Bendigo, he's worth a look, but he has not kicked a lot of goals. Some suggest he is a tall mid rather than key forward. Interesting.

From '88s original post;
inxs88 wrote:1. Patrick Lipinski: 190cm. 85kg and midfielder from Bulldogs & 23 years old,

X2. Hayden McLean: 197cm, 97kg and Forward/Ruck from Swans & 22 years old. Re-signed with Sydney

X3. Dylan Stephens: 184cm, 76kg and midfielder from Swans & 20 years old Re-signed with Sydney

X4. Jack Silvagni: 194cm, 91kg and Utility from Blues and 23 years old. Expected to re-sign with Carlton very soon.

5. Lochie O'Brien: 185cm, 82kg and mid/forward from Blues and 21 years old

6. Nathan Kreuger: 196cm, 93kg and Forward/Back from Cats and 22 years old

X7. Jake Kelly: 190cm, 91kg and backman from Crows and 26 years old. To sign with Essendon.

8. Sam Weideman: 195cm, 94kg and forward from Dees and 24 years old

9. James Bell: 183cm, 84kg and forward from Swans and 22 years old

10. Jake Riccardi: 195cm, 93kg and forward/defender from Giants and 21 years old

11. Tom Lynch: 192cm, 87kg and forward from Crows and 30 years old

12. Tyson Stengle: 175cm, 74kg and forward from SANFL club Glenelg and 22 years old
I think Lipinski is the clubs #1 target. We'll see what happens after the GF. After that I think maybe Kreuger and Weideman will be targetted from that list.
