Well hasn't that been a ripper outcome? frickin bleeds black and white too!
Paul Seedsman (Adelaide): Is Paul Seedsman the the best attacking wingman in the game? On his 2021 form, he just about is. The 29-year-old put together a career-best season, which saw him rank 'elite' in categories such as effective kicks, inside 50s, rebound 50s and metres gained. He plays the role to perfection -- working hard both defensively and offensively -- and deserves All-Australian recognition.

Moore De Goey
So it looks like:
* Lipinski: leaning towards the Pies
* Kreuger: declared desire to join Pies
Solid start as both players fill important gaps on the list one being a wing/forward with excellent skills and the other a 196cm skilled, versatile and agile KPP.
Next? Hopefully Stengle as a delisted free agent and with 40+ goals in the SANFL surely has more upside than Thomas and C Brown in our forward half. Plus Jarrod Brander looks like he is on the nose for the Eagles as they battle salary cap and a glut of talls. Could envisage all 4 being starting 22 players next season plus the acquisition of Nick Daicos.
Thoughts?

I love the Pies, hate Carlscum

McRae should know Stengle better than anyone. Stengle has plenty of priors, so McRaes input would be valuable if we were to pursue him.
I find it odd the Eagles aren’t working harder to keep Brander. I take your point about list management issues but I would have thought they would move out others in order to retain a young, tall first rounder who was getting a regular game until his injury.
Not sure if we have the pennies put aside for two more and the Brander trade wouldn’t be peanuts but if it was to eventuate, a swap of both clubs future firsts seems like a decent outcome for both parties ( just not sure if I would want us to likely lose a few spots in the 2022 draft order )
They must rate Krueger but there is so little exposed form. If we had a crystal ball to say he was part of our best 22 every week, then I wouldn’t be to fussed about Brander. In that scenario, I would prefer to hold fire and see how we look in 12 months time with so much organic growth in the team.
The issue is, we don’t have a crystal ball and the trade period hasn’t even started yet. In summary, I don’t see both Krueger and Brander joining the club during this off season.

Ive been wanting Brander for a while and thought he might cost more than all the players mentioned - which we really dont have YET. Would think there is a few clubs after him but strangely quiet and the last I read was Eagles were prepared to just de-list.
Lipinski might be being played as an outside "wing/Forward" when he gets a game but I saw his best in VFL as an inside mid that can spread. To me, he is the bloke with less risk about him and could fill a roll straight away.
As good as Kreuger's highlights look, hes still only played 2 games last year, one of which was a shocker. In trade he cant be worth more than a late pick. He is still very much unproven but seems we are keen. Probably means we are not interested in Weideman or know we cant pay the price for him ( or not prepared to)
Is Stengle still a de-listed free agent given he has been out for a year ? I thought he had to go back into the draft.

Totally agree with you. Basically we need three players outside the national draft:inxs88 wrote:So it looks like:

Big bodied inside mid - Lipinski fits the description
Key Position Forward - Krueger fits that description
Both need to be available at reasonable cost and ready to play round one. Neither Lipinski or Krueger are the best going around, but they are the best going around at the price we can afford to pay.
The third one is the most interesting one of all. A crumbing forward. Elliot, Ginnivan and McCreery aren’t crumbing forwards. Stengle is but he has a long rap sheet. Personally I’d have a go at persuading him to come to Collingwood but I think the club has other ideas.

Cheers. There’s something odd about the way the Brander no contact offer has played out. From the outside, it doesn’t make sense ( a bit like Nick Holman finishing ahead of Ben King in G C S best and fairest

Again we have no hope of gaining Ben King any time. The AFL will make sure of that by having Clarkson coach Gold Coast at the end of next year, after which Ben King, who will be the highest paid forward in the game, will have no thoughts about leaving Gold Coast.
Brander I can’t see coming to Collingwood. There has been no indication from anyone from the club that they are interested in Brander. He doesn’t fit the description of who we want. He may look like a Key Position Forward but he doesn’t play like one.

Brander is a Key forward who is being played on the wing. Suggests to me he has a massive upside if he were played in position given his elite endurance.MatthewBoydFanClub wrote:Again we have no hope of gaining Ben King any time. Ben King wants to come home. The AFL dont get a say if thats what he wants. If they keep him for his last year then they have a year to try and convince him. Never said we were in a position to get him. Just that he wants to come home.

Kreugers mobility skills and movement reminded me of Leigh/Lee Walker.
Kreuger will be something if he stays fit.
So Collingwood need to weigh up the risk. If his knees are shot then a very late speculative pick is all he would be worth.
If his knees are sound then I hope GW can find a good outcome for us bc I really like the way NK plays ( going by those highlights )
