Lipinski because of the Grand Final with Dogs in it.

Kruger not as Cats going to try 1 last time to try and keep him

Guess we find out more Next Week
We do live in a football universe where players who come out of contract and then nominate a new preferred destination club generally end up getting their way. All players are well managed and are accordingly advised when and what to say at the right times. You would think the two trades above would happen but it only takes a better option to come from nowhere and if the contract ain’t signed, then all bets are off. Having said that, if it is a better option, then we won’t be complaining ( well most of us won’t at least )

Agree - and Graham Wright is renown for playing his cards close to his chest and then delivering players to the club he is targeting.

The quiet is strange, but a little refreshing.

FF & CHF as far as I'm concerned we have nobody, We have Ruck & Backup covered well. But Forward of the ball not a genuine mobile marking forward. Checkers is a 3rd forward in my book who busts his guts. Hope we can find one this offseason.

Thought for the day: Do three 3rd forwards add up to at least one 2nd forward?

What’s going on with Cox? Will he be retained. I think McCrae who initially developed him would give him one more year.

I want to read less about players we are 'linked-to' and more about ones who actually sign.

I think Lapinski is a lock and that Kreuger will also find his way to Magpie land.

The earlier post made about a swap of future first-rounders with West Coast seems a fair deal for Brander...at 195cms and 93kgs, a good key position player.

We would not need have all of Cameron, Cox and Lynch on our list if we got Kreuger and Brander to fill the key forward posts.

Make it happen Wrighty.... quietly

Good point.
Prior to any one being traded out, our list for tall forwards / rucks looks something like this. I’m also adding Krueger in and I’m not rating individual capabilities

Grundy - ruck only. Will play
Miochek - forward only. Will play
Cox - ruck / forward
Cameron - ruck / forward
Krueger - forward only
Lynch - ruck only
Begg - ruck / forward ( likely a year to early )

The best way to extract maximum performance from any player is to have competition for that same spot. To me, Lynch almost looks like the one dimension expendable player who could yet nett us a return as a trade.
If Cox is re- signed on something that better reflects his likely performance levels, I wouldn’t be against keeping him because he can play two positions, even if neither of them are at a top level. The shorter the contract, the better.
Other than the Grundy of two years ago, there are no superstars there but there is probably still enough to pick from in order to apply selection pressure from below ( mainly because they aren’t superstars )
The Cox / Lynch outcomes will be interesting but it makes sense that at least one will likely move on.

Lynch for Kruger - straight swap? The Cats could do with a proper ruckman...

Still not sure if Darcy Cameron and Grundy are the ideal mix to play together (Cameron not really a forward-ruck) although they are probably the best 2 ruckmen on our list.

Read somewhere thet Sier unlikely to leave - or maybe I read he was likely to stay (and maybe both of those are code for "no interest from anyone else").
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

Dave exactly my point, Michochek is a terrific 3rd tall. Cameron is good in the air, horrible on the ground. And chops out the ruck.

Need a 6-5, 6,6 100KG Mobile Marking option that breaks packs apart.

I’d rather keep Lynch. Or cats should be throwing in a 3rd rd pick.
