Not sure why you've cherry picked that little group but Macrae is already contracted for 2022 unless I'm mistaken, or did you mean McRae?BazBoy wrote:Rantall *
Out of Rantall , Bianco & McCrae believe Rantall may not get a contract
Rantall might find himself delisted to enable the senior list vacancy to activate points for Daicos, and then re-drafted via the Rookie Draft.

He's waiting like Thomas and Madgen to see how it plays out, if we hit our targets they could all be in trouble. I'd prefer someone like Taylin Duman (DFA) over Madgen anyway, 23 years old, averages 15 disposals, 5 marks, fast for 193cm and an Oakleigh Chargers boy to boot, we love them for some reasonBazBoy wrote:Rantall
Thomas is in the same boat, someone like Stengle might be a risk but we know JT doesn't get any better turning 30 so you may as well roll the dice. Rantall at least has youth on his side

I’ve picked that little group as I’ve seen all three play and feel Rantall was the lesser performer of the three plus he is noted as unsigned for 2022
Not sure if other two are signed but of three only Rantall has been pointed out as unsigned
There will be delisting if we expect to profit from draft period

I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right

^^^ The difficulty is that we can only use the number of picks for points that we have available spots on the list. i.e. if we only have one vacant spot, we can only use 1 x pick for points to match a bid... Depending on trades, we will likely need 4 - 5 list spots free entering the draft.
This is another reason walking a player through to the PSD is beneficial - that list spot isn't filled on draft night (and day).
With Rantall, I'd imagine he may be delisted with a promise to rookie - to again free up the spot.

^^^ I think there'll be some interesting pick-swap opportunities during the draft and trade periods.
GCS for instance currently have 7 picks and there is speculation they won't use all of them in the draft, 3-4 (they have 3, 19, 22) picks might see them out. If so we could potentially do something like our pick 36 (502 points) for their picks 43, 55, 58, & 66 (835 points). Similar opportunities with the Bears.
Assume there'll be others emerge as trades get done.

Rantall is an interesting one.
Has he enough ?, or is the call made early ?
I don't know. I mention it because I reckon he is borderline not going to make it, or borderline attributes to be a handy player.
So.. While I'm thinking aloud, are 'borderline attributes to be a handy player' enough to be persevered with ?

We're going to have very limited draft picks so any young players who are borderline, considering there's been bugger all VFL footy for them, stay.
We've lost Greenwood and Mayne already from the main list, Cox and Sier to come maybe
We'll bring in Daicos from the draft and aiming at Lipinski and Kreuger. We don't need to de-list any young blokes

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Pendlebury Noble Thomas Rantall Cox Lynch Sier Chugg
(Word is Chugg about to be signed and you'd think Pendles and Noble are done deals)

Not sure we need two of them
1. Rantall: an endurance beast possession heavy on-baller with a flawed ball drop and kick
2. O'Brien: a half forward, with a questionable tank, low possession getter but an elite kick
I love the Pies, hate Carlscum
