Well that's 1 point of view. Clearly the selectors at the club saw it differently. Be very interesting to see how McRae uses any of those players should they remain. At least Noble and Madgen are at this stage.inxs88 wrote:When you cut the cloth for a rebuild, it's pointless persevering with players that display week in week out flaws:
* Noble: plays like a crab, left right left right vs direct and disposes the ball with hits and misses regularly
* Madgen: can't win a one on one inside 50 to save himself whilst lacking general skill and game sense
* Cox: averages 1 goal a game, lost his ruck craft and cannot impose himself when the ball hits the floor
* Thomas: zero impact in last 40 matches
* Sier: built like Tarzan plays like ...... well you know what I mean
Rather finish bottom of the ladder next year investing in young players with upside vs "frustration merchants".

Just looked a few highlights of Nathan Krueger from 2019 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGHKrtJx_8E
Could be a good get - still pretty young but is a good kick and seems to go in hard and tackles like he means it.

Kreuger looks really good, I think he will be a hit. Hope his body stands up. Thought there were questions over his knees is this true?
Any love for Charlie Constable from the cats.??
Ive always thought he was a player on the up and just not getting game time bc of the talent down at the cattery. Pick 36 from 2017.
Would be a handy pick up and from what I know he is an inside mid and looking at his highlights he moves and plays very well. Would come cheap .

I have seen enough to put more work/games into McCreey and Ginnivan than chase around
They get more work/games into Henry and hopefully Ash Johnson is OK when tried
And maybe if Krueger slots in a big body power forward (same height/ weight as Jeremy Cameron) we can get goals from on ballers

I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right
Aside from everything else I feel we have another problem at play this trade/draft.
Yes our cap is tight and yes we have some lesser players to try and shuffle off to other clubs for whatever we can get.
I mean if we could trade..
Cox for a 3rd rounder.
Sier for a 4th rounder.
Lynch for a 2nd or early 3rd.
Even Thomas for a 5th.
That would be a great outcome. However, I feel like this draft more then a few clubs are trying to scrap together 2nd 3rd round picks to either A: move up the order or B: get points for academy or as in our and the Dogs case F/S picks. Meaning they are of more value.
But an even greater problem for us is that almost all clubs caps are tight due to COVID and list spaces are reduced meaning clubs are less likely to take a punt on a Josh Thomas as a last main list player.
The real shame is having to chew into next year to pay for thi year. But I fear it might have to be done.

Like the look of Krueger. Looks like a natural footballer and plays like a competitive beast. Any love for Aaron Vandenberg from the Ds? Large bodied mid with a killer attack on the ball. Is 29 and not a great ball user but might be handy to protect some of our young emerging mids. Is a great trainer and clubman by all accounts and would also come dirt cheap
No. Just too old and an ordinary footballer, don't care how big and strong he isnomadjack wrote:Like the look of Krueger. Looks like a natural footballer and plays like a competitive beast. Jatsad - That is all
Well that’s a buzzkill, Dave. He does like to “ engage in the contest “, so there may be something in it. If we’ve had our eye on him for 12 months, you would think we would have an understanding of any issues medically related.Dave The Man wrote:Heard he has had Concussion Issuesmagpieazza wrote:Kreuger looks really good, I think he will be a hit. Even if other clubs vaguely wanted some of the above, they only need to facilitate a trade if there is more than one taker, and i doubt there will be - so Sier, Thomas etc can be picked up as delisted free agent for nothing at the end.
As to our salary cap issues, well we finished 17th, so we must have some overpaid players on our list.
