Interstate Functions

Post by Northern Pie »

Hi Guys,

Not sure how many of you caught the thread about the BRisbane stuff, but I am here to see if we can establish some sort of pattern for the cheer squad and the Supporters Groups to get together and make sure everything can be doen from both sides to make sure everything that needs to be done will be done so that we can all enjoy the collingwood experience. My apologies if I upset anyone regarding the BRisbane Game, some circumstances are out of our control, but we must move on and make things better for now and the future.

So suggestions on ow we can be sure that things are well and truely organised would be quite welcomed.

My suggestins are as follows:

1. The Interstate supporters groups and the cheer squad name a representative that will act as a contact leading up to the game. I would suggest initial contact be made atleast a fortnight in advance, then work together closer to when the game arrives.

2. If final travel plans, ie who is travelling to the game can be communicated so the supporters groups have more than enough time to organise the additional hands that are required to help out on the night.

3. A rendevous point either at the ground or at the airport, somewhere where intial contact can be made so that the Cheer squad know exactly where they are heading and who will be helping.

4. A definate time for meeting the cheer sqaud before kick off and a rendevous point at the ground that everyone can meet without getting grief from the security at the ground (maybe if the cheersquad can bring some sort of pass that supporter group members can wear that can easily be see so that security do not give them a hard time for being where they shouldn't be accoding to their ticket to the match....

Please, I would love to hear all of the suggestions, then lets get the good ones and adpot them so we can get things moving and shaking and prove that it will only ever be"The best for Collingwood"

Cheers

Can I add something to this...

That it is a 'contra' agreement between the supporters clubs and the Cheersquad. I.E. The supporters clubs help out the CS when they come up, and the Cheersquad helps out the supporters clubs when we come down.

The Sydney club will be down for the St Kilda game on the 15th. We are organising a game of footy at Vic Park prior to the match, as well as some other things.

I look forward to seeing everyone then, and of course, at the Sydney game later this year

I just don't understand why the CFC cannot organise(here in QLD) ticketed seats to sit with the Cheer squad or vice versa. Surely the Club and the cheersquad can arrange this so that it does not look like a case of us and them. More unity is needed but the club just does not seem to want this to happen(this is the feeling I get anyway). What could be better than a loud and proud group of 250+ all going off behind the goals at the Gabba. Please guys discuss this with the club for next years game up here.
All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

*nods* It is very strange.

They have these 'pockets' around the ground that get allocated to the club - so it would be a case of negotiating a bigger area. Which would not likely happen because the home team would have their reserved seats already allocated and in many cases it is the Cheersquad surrounded by the home team supporters. It does definitely dampen the atmosphere tho.

Saying that - last year for both the Adelaide and Sydney match we didn't want to miss out on seats and wait to the last minute for Cam to organise who was sitting where as we were all flying up and at different times and staying longer etc.

Through ticketek and adelaide bass we were still able to sit in the first row behind the 'squad allocation' if that makes sense. So it worked out well. I would've hated to have been anywhere else.

Sydney Tickets on sale

Post by magpiefanatic »

Tickets are now on sale. Collingwood fans should grab their seats in the following bays:

140-1 to 144-1 inclusive and 140-2 to 144-2 inclusive.

142-1 is where the cheer squad will be located.

There are Ticketek outlets in Melbourne, the only one I know of personally is in the arcade where the Coles Supermarket is in St Kilda at the last 96 tram stop. The shop is upstairs and is an Internet Cafe.

Ticketek were not obliging in reserving a bay or 2 for us to allow people to quote those bays when booking. That being the case, then I am suggesting all Collingwood fans book in those bays.

Below is the seating plan:
