Dont disagree on getting a deal done however given that they took full advantage over us on Treloar last year - Im more than happy screwing them on Lipinski this year.warburton lad wrote:Just throwing up scenarios-if we get the deal done with Lipinski for a price that is fair to us and the Dogs, then we still have pick number 2 in the PSD.MJ23 wrote:I stop reading at "Grundy to....."think positive wrote:WL no to trading Grundy, give him a chance under a new regime.
That could throw up some interesting options..

Whilst talking about "pundits" downplaying Nick Daicos and Collingwood(Ralph and Montagna) let's add Nat Edwards to the list. In a podcast earlier this week she said that she hoped that North would pick Nick Daicos at #1 even though they had no hope of getting him. She said about 3 times about Collingwood- "Make them pay! Make them pay!"
What's that all about?

Bulldogs: Treloar + picks 26 (729), 33 (563) and 42 (395).
Total points = 1687.
Magpies: Pick 14 (1161 points but ended up Pick 17 - 1025 points) and a future second-round selection (Pick 36 - 502).
Total points = 1663 (or 1025+502 = 1527).
Plus the remaining $1.5 million owed to Treloar over the next five years will be paid to him by the Magpies. ($300k x 5 years)
The Bulldogs agreed to front-end some of Treloar’s first-year wages in a bid to assist Collingwood in managing its salary cap.
...
There are a lot of ways to look at that trade:
We got the salary dump we wanted however saddled with $300k for 5 years.
Lost a player, for nothing, who GC had agreed to trade Pick 5 (ended up Pick 7 after Ugle-Hagen etc). Not sure how much of the salary they would have taken on.
We gave up Treloar and gained $600k in salary cap relief and moved up 12 places in the draft.
...
So, in my learned opinion, Pick 58 Lipinski seem like 'overs'.

I've previously seen pics of her posing with Eagles players in 18.Harrysz wrote:Whilst talking about "pundits" downplaying Nick Daicos and Collingwood(Ralph and Montagna) let's add Nat Edwards to the list. Let the Daicos sledging begin, it can only help.
I agree with previous posts, JFH will probably go at 1. He'll miss out on $10k if Kangas don't select him there.
GWS have a better relationship with us then Doggies.
I anticipate Nick will go between 4-5.
Happy if that happens

Would GWS, Bulldogs, Port, Brisbane, Geelong have won a Premiership/s (Dogs this year) had they recruited Grundy in 2012?MJ23 wrote:I stop reading at "Grundy to....."think positive wrote:WL no to trading Grundy, give him a chance under a new regime.
- GWS - 5 picks before Pick 18 (Only Whitfield has been a win).
- WB - 2 (Pick 5 Stringer and Pick 6 McCrae). Would they have still won other flag with one of those and Grundy - probably.
- Port - 1 (Pick 7 Wines though). Would they have gone further with Grundy as opposed to Wines?
- Brisbane - 1 (Pick 8 Sam Mayes).
- Geelong - 1 (Pick 17 Thurlow)
- Richmond took Vlastuin with Pick 9.
- Melbourne Toumpas with Pick 4.

Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!
Just looks like a year where a number of clubs are prepared to take unders in terms of a trade pick. The benefits of easing the salary cap are helping to offset the seemingly underwhelming draft pick in a number of likely trade outcomes.
While I don’t expect any club to lose out as badly as we did last year, I think our clearing the decks now shows we were prepared to cut deep enough to allow for some spending wiggle room during the 2021 trade period.
This trade period, there will be plenty of clubs who lose best 22 players that aren’t replaced in the short term.
In a simplistic nutshell, our last two years of ins and outs will end up looking something like this after this draft. There are the gains of the 2020 draftee haul + N Daicos + Lipinski + Krueger and maybe another coming in versus the losses of #2 pick in the 2021 N D + Treloar + Stephenson + Phillips and possibly another going out.
For mine, the outcome certainly looks better now than what it did a couple weeks ago ( especially if we can regain a pick around 20 in the 2022 draft )

Been saying this for a while but, there are 2 reasons I know the $300k py is wrong.Magpie Russ wrote:As a reminder (or to relive a nightmare )..MJ23 wrote:Dont disagree on getting a deal done however given that they took full advantage over us on Treloar last year - Im more than happy screwing them on Lipinski this year.warburton lad wrote:Just throwing up scenarios-if we get the deal done with Lipinski for a price that is fair to us and the Dogs, then we still have pick number 2 in the PSD.

1. All the papers and so called experts quoted it.
2. I have as good a source as it ever gets and it was $166k py over 5 totaling $850k. The sticking point at the end was how much paid in what year.
